(AP) MADISON -- Rock music legend Elton John has donated $20,000 to a group trying to defeat a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage in Wisconsin, according to a campaign filing on Monday. Voters will decide the issue Nov. 7.
John made the donation to Fair Wisconsin Oct. 23, according to its report with the state Elections Board.
The donation was among those that helped the group raise $2.5 million between July 1 and Oct. 23.
The group has been running television advertisements noting that the proposed amendment would also ban civil unions comparable to marriage, which critics say would threaten benefits for all unmarried couples -- gay and straight.
The filing cited "privacy reasons" in withholding John's address -- a filing requirement made of other donors.
John, 59, is a longtime gay rights activist who lives in Britain. He exchanged vows with his longtime partner, Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, in a civil ceremony last year.

Oh my, that is pathethic. And cruel, too.

Holey moley, Sir John is series. He could have gone to Kuala Lampur and got about 500 young boys for that $20K contribution.
More than likely he has been there and done that.

It's not a BAN on anything. It's an affirmation of the truth -- that marriage exists solely between one man and one woman. Not a ban, an affirmation.

SO why didn't campaign finance laws prohibit foreign money?? Because people like this, and Soro's ARE the Dems purse. Nice to know our country can be bought.

I'm opposed to foreign money getting into our elections, especially for candidates, but Elton John may be a resident alien. I have no idea.
He has a place near Atlanta, GA, where he's seemingly lived much of the past decade.

Use guys are right, it's nothing, it's cheap. It don't mean nothing. Which tells me, Madame Elton is being pushed (from behind, whaddya think) to do this as a payback to the "Community" for past and future support.

This has got to be against the law. He's not a citizen of this country.
