Ya know come to think of it I didn't even get the local Pro Life newsletter that normally comes out at election time. (other times too, but nothing for the election).

The politicians are all over fight the meth agenda here and the usual bickering over non issues attack ads amongst themselves.

Prior to this election reports were the meth problem had moved to another state due to the great job the anti meth task force was doing.

Sounds kinda flippy/floppy.

As part of an “activism class,” students at Solebury School, a private school near Philadelphia, were taken to an abortion clinic, donned vests worn by abortion staff, and helped to escort women into the building.

...having spent a couple of mornings holding a sign in front an abortion clinic there are some images burned into my head forever....backdrop/setting would make even the best Hollywood producer envy.....pro-life folks praying constantly, holding signs, walking to avoid loitering laws, their breath turning white in the cold winter air, sounds from footsteps and catholics praying the rosary, Police with barricades indicating where pro-life may be and not be, standing still as statues almost in the posture of a Roman guard...

The real life story includes characters hired by villans: "pro-choice" death-sorts (escorts), wearing yellow tee-shirts with "pro-choice escort" screen printed in black across the front over the top of warm clothes to avoid the biting cold winter air, to help people feel comfortable walk their baby to its death. The pro-death escorts purpose is aid in walk by heroic pro-life servants unselfishly giving their Saturday morning to plead with them offering to will help them, food, shelter, baby supplies whatever they needed, echoing the words of their conscience telling them that this isn't right. The entire purpose of the pro-death escorts was to take the edge off their conscience, make people feel comfortable doing what the laws written on their heart press upon them is clearly wrong. Having been there and witnessed this, I cannot imagine this being an assignment for a school class....escorting someone to suck ones own child up in a fancy vacuum cleaner, or to burn the skin and poison ones own child with salt solution, or crush the brain and snap the spine of one's own child....this is simply unfathamable barbaric educational conditioning.

In his book, "The Abolition of Man"[ Abolition of Man Chapter 1, Abolition of Man Chapter 2, Abolition of Man Chapter 3 ], he tackles the subject of how education develops ones sense of morality. While doing so he provides various proofs of the doctrine of objective value, the idea that certain attitudes are really true, and others really false... Lewis calls this objective value, [the laws written on our conscience] the "Tao". [In a seperate book, Lewis provides a philosophical proof that those laws of objective value imply a Lawgiver.] A couple of notes:
St Augustine defines virtue as ordo amoris, the ordinate condition of the affections in which every object is accorded that kind of degree of love which is appropriate to it. Aristotle says that the aim of education is to make the pupil like and dislike what he ought. When the age for reflective thought comes, the pupil who has been thus trained in 'ordinate affections' or 'just sentiments' will easily find the first principles in Ethics; but to the corrupt man they will never be visible at all and he can make no progress in that science. Plato before him had said the same.
Hence the educational problem is wholly different according as you stand within or without the Tao. For those within, the task is to train in the pupil those responses which are in themselves appropriate, whether anyone is making them or not, and in making which the very nature of man consists. Those without, if they are logical, must regard all sentiments as equally non-rational, as mere mists between us and the real objects. As a result, they must either decide to remove all sentiments, as far as possible, from the pupil's mind; or else to encourage some sentiments for reasons that have nothing to do with their intrinsic 'justness' or 'ordinacy'. The latter course involves them in the questionable process of creating in others by 'suggestion' or incantation a mirage which their own reason has successfully dissipated.
The Conditioners, therefore, must come to be motivated simply by their own pleasure. I am not here speaking of the corrupting influence of power nor expressing the fear that under it our Conditioners will degenerate. The very words corrupt and degenerate imply a doctrine of value and are therefore meaningless in this context. My point is that those who stand outside all judgements of value cannot have any ground for preferring one of their own impulses to another except the emotional strength of that impulse.
Here the educational system is deliberately violating the laws written on the conscience of its own students, and trying to replace them with the false values that man is nothing more then an intellectual animal and the false value that the purpose in life is to save ones self by directing future evolution. Hence, according to the conditioned false values murdering innocent [ones own] flesh and blood can be 'good'.

In the story of the real-life drama which takes place in front of an abortion clinic everyday, there is a chapter I will never forget.... As in any good story, the plot is also the story of human action from which moral and ethical issues cannot be separated...the moral plot drives the story....except this wasn't fiction, this was real life,....it is just surreal being there, one feels like one is in a movie with all of the suspense surrounding a murder plot, but one standing on a sidewalk of real life. Having been an eyewitness to the drama which takes place every day in front of an abortion clinic, there is a moment cemeted in my mind forever.... a boy pulling and tugging on a girls arm to the 'clinic' with tears streaming down her face....at that point nearly everything was quiet, her sobs heard above the footsteps and the catholic rosary, ....when I see the door open to the clinic in my head all I picture a precipice looking into an abyss behind the door...the moment is almost frozen in time I can't imagine the next moment any further ...the picture of tears streaming down that girls face and that boy tugging on her arm pulling her to the death of her/their baby is cemented in my mind forever.

To transition from that moment to reading a statistics like an abortion occurs on average every 23 seconds in America...it is unbearable--to try to even think of comprehending all of the personal stories behind each 23 sec tragedy of human life...these aren't just numbers, they are real people, walking on real sidewalks, with real babies and real personal stories, crying real tears with real hurting souls and real wounded spirits.

To transition from that moment, to those aweful statistics, to the unfathonable truth of the complete atoning of the work of Christ which fully accounted for the weight of all of real human sin and tragedy rejecting the Creator of the all of life--it is uncontainable joy. Joy, joy, joy, tears of uncontainable joy.

"It's a shame that politicians won't address abortion, simply on a political level. The pro-abortion position can't withstand the light of day. A simple rhetorical question like, "Why should people have the right to kill their children?" repeated ad nauseum, could do wonders for a campaign, and people's consciences."

Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) made a commencement address some years ago at a college near where I live (I attented this address). At first he engaged in the usual platitutdes given to newly-minted graduates, and the graduates politely listened (this was a graduate program, grads. in their mid 20s by and large), then he transitioned into a pro-life, anti-abortion theme that seemed more like a stump speech. As soon as he changed his theme, the graduates began tuning him out in droves. It was not a message they wanted to hear, especially in a graduation address. Maybe the banal platitutdes are best in that circumstance.

If you love your children you will put aside your desire for material possessions and immediate self-gratification then educate them yourself.

As seen in this thread NO ONE will love your children as much as you do. Stop trusting moronic moonbats to bring your children up as you think they should be brought up.

There's a time and place for everything. Then again, he may have saved some lives.

To my mind, we're living in the middle of a new Holocaust. As the Left is fond of saying, "silence equal consent."

Hence, according to the conditioned false values murdering innocent [ones own] flesh and blood can be 'good'.*

*[Emphasis added -- with a qualifying note: Only the "Conditioners" get to work on the thorny problem of perfecting future evolution.... the rest of us would simply be compelled to go along, against all conscience if need be, if we do not want to be killed as "impediments" on the road to a man-made (by some men, as noted) future utopian glory.... Kinda sounds like the Islamofascist jihaddis, doesn't it?]

Peter Singer, who holds the Ethics chair at Princeton, would certainly agree that "murdering innocent [ones own] flesh and blood can be 'good'." But here's the real zinger in his ideology: He blithely concedes that there isn't a nonce of difference in the ontological status of a pre-born and an after-born human child.

That is, whether born or not, Singer recognizes the child as a living human person (and therefore entitled to Constitutional protection of its life -- though he won't concede that point!). The horrific scandal that Singer thrills to commit is to say that human life itself isn't innately valuable, let alone sacred; that man does not enjoy any privileged position in the evolutionary chain of life [except for the Conditioners, of course -- as usual they are exempt from the logic of their own pronouncements]; that no person should live if by living he causes pain or distress to another human person.

So infanticide is perfectly okay both before and after birth. He thinks parents should have a 28-day "free look" period after the birth of their child in which to decide wether they really want to keep the baby, or whether to "terminate" it.

However, confining that decision to 28 days seems pretty arbitrary to me, for given the principle Singer states it ought to be "just" to kill any person, any time if it can be shown that person causes suffering to another: pre-born, after-born, in old-age, for reason of ill health that might cause a financial drain on "care-givers," or persons with disability -- such as Terry Schiavo, for instance -- etc.

Thank you for your heartfelt witness to the horrors of the abortion abbatoir; I wept over your account of the girl and her boyfriend.... his selfishness is almost beyond imagination.

Thank you also for the excerpts from C. S. Lewis' The Abolition of Man, in which he speaks of the "Tao" as the universal moral law "written on the hearts" of people everywhere, of all time, and of all cultures....

And especially I thank you for your magnificent testimony to the salvific power of our Lord Jesus Christ, and God's amazing grace of forgiveness.

A simply glorious, beautiful essay/post, FreedomProtector -- even though the subject matter is so terribly, terribly sad. Thank you so very much for writing, and for the ping!

It is interesting what Peter Singer advocates in his Practical Ethics book, or his notion of applied ethics. One could use a large portion of his writings to support the moral argument from the consequences of atheism [If God did not exist, everything would be permissible -- Dostoevsky].

It is also interesting that Peter Singer [Julian Huxley and others] have tried to instill the philosophy of direction future evolution via the UN. It is interesting that Peter Singer tried to persuade the United Nations to adopt a Declaration on Great Apes awarding personhood to non-human great apes. He carries out his false presuppositions to their logical conclusion: an ape, or a whale or a tree is more important that a human baby [humans are made in the image of God, a distinct pinnacle separate from the rest of God's creation is the correct presupposition antithetical to his]. It is also interesting the particular vehicle or authoritarian elite used for his [and Julian Huxley's] sinister plan to rule the world by directing future evolution.

Perhaps to be in line with the miscellaneous humorous rules of FreeRepublic there should be a picture required whenever the insightful betty boop writes with sagacity:

I wept over your account of the girl and her boyfriend.... his selfishness is almost beyond imagination.

That may have been the most emotionally draining day of my entire life. Maybe I have a psychological disorder but I still can't get that moment out of my mind.

Thanks for the kind words, someday I will learn to proof read before posting.

[Singer] carries out his false presuppositions to their logical conclusion: an ape, or a whale or a tree is more important that a human baby....

Now there's an idea that seems to be catching on, FreedomProtector! IIRC, I read somewhere (here) last week that the Spanish Parliament (or whatever they call it over there) recently passed legislation extending civil rights protections to the higher apes....

In this regard, it looks like Spanish apes get more governmental protection than pre-born Spanish humans. I just can't wait to find out what those Spanish solons think about civil rights protections for pre-born Spanish apes....

Is the world going insane or what???? Is the next great evolutionary step up for humankind the descent into total lunacy, mass madness?

Very cute pix -- LOLOL!!!!

Thanks so much for writing!

Very interesting discussion on the thread. And of course a private school has the right to indoctrinate skulls full of mush into the lie that abortion is a sacred right (rite?). But we have the right to condemn such indoctrination as evil.
