Speaking as someone living in his district...he'd better have the cleanest underwear in history, and I'm not sure he does.

This is great. I'll be supporting him all the way and will be sure he has the funds.

..if he doesn't make it to the top--he definitely should be the next SecDef...

Hunter was a vocal opponent of the Dubai ports deal. That, and his strong stand on border security/immigration law enforcement, have caused him to stand out in my mind. In a positive way, of course.:)
WaPo, 3/6/2006:
Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), with bipartisan support, introduced legislation yesterday that would scuttle the deal; mandate that the owners of "critical infrastructure" in the United States, including ports, highways and power plants, be American; and demand that cargo entering U.S. ports be screened within six months of passage.
"This is a question at the heart of the security challenges we will be facing in this next century," Hunter said.

He would be an interesting choice for Vice President.
I maintain the Republicans should pick a governor for their Presidential candidate.

He is running to convey the Republican military message in the primary.
Frist will convey the health care positions.

Do a search for Duncan Hunter scandal. He may have a problem because Rep. Cunningham ties. Getting harder and harder to find anyone that does not have a slight taint to them.

From what I've seen of this man, he seems to be a man of integrity and guts. He is one of few GOP pols who shows leadership. Good luck to him!!
