What Hes Trying to Say
By BEN WALLACE-WELLS
The White House, like any castle, has its own peculiar rituals, and in the five months that Tony Snow has been President George W. Bushs press secretary, he has begun to learn them.

...a man named Lester Kinsolving, a radio host and reporter for a Baltimore station with a big grin and game-show-host wavy hair, will interrupt a back-and-forth on, say, the operational capacities of Al Qaeda to read confounding questions he has written out, word for word, before the press briefing began.
Tony, Kinsolving began one morning in September, The Washington Times noted on Page 1 that the Congressional Black Caucus will remain exclusively black. Does the president support or oppose this racial segregation, which excluded California Congressman Pete Stark who risked his life for civil rights in Mississippi because Stark was born white?
Snow grinned and shook his head and began to point to some other reporter, any other reporter.
No, wait a minute, Kinsolving said, are you just going to evade that question?
No, Snow said, beginning to laugh, enjoying the exchange, his deep voice booming, Im going to laugh at it. He did. So did the rest of the room.
Snow, who is 51, is 6-foot-4, with a genial lectern slouch and a chin that looks as if it were built for contact. But the first thing you notice about him is his facility at managing the fragile balance of a press room, its constant teeter between sincerity, open hostility and absurdity.

:-) I think that you know him well.
I think I do! ;o)
;-) I say that if we have to give up the Show for a longer duration that he should skip the Senate and go straight for the WH.
Frau Blucher (horses whinny) and Obama* would dissolve into a gooey mess if he ran.
* Although seriously, I think Frau Blucher invites him to sell his book and take attention away from her doings. LOL Why is she spending like a lunatic on a shoo in 06 race? LOL LOL LOL

:-) Good thing too, otherwise you might be sent some remedial reading.
LOL!
The answer to that is beyond me.
Bump
I was just about to send you a "ping"! ;-)
Thanks for thinking of me!
And it's fun to watch him.
Have they ever been seen in the same room?
Mmmmmm..............Magnificent GOP bastards are rare. Two at the same time????
:-)
LOL I have an answer, but it involves someone missing psychotherapy sessions. Or misusing them as rant sessions.
LOL Oh my gosh, this is great! LOL Why do we have to look to the foreign press to get the bad news for Clintons?

Americans snub invitation to pay $500,000 for Clinton birthday party
Scroll down in the article
The minimum price, with inferior concert seats and no brunch, was set at $60,000 (£31,000). But with many rich Democrats sending their regrets, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that last Wednesday the Clintons drastically slashed prices to $12,500 (£6,500) for one reception and the concert, or $5,000 (£2,600) for just the Stones.
With the looming possibility of Bill and his long-suffering wife and daughter finding themselves amid a sea of empty chairs at the 2,900-seat Manhattan venue, tickets then went on sale to the public for as little as $1,710 (£900).
If she wins by a huge landslide this time she believes it will send a signal to the rest of the pack that she is unstoppable.
Love that photo!
Thanks for the link. I enjoyed that.
I knew he played the flute, but was surprised to see him play the sax as well.
Thanks for the ping. What a wonderful article!
:-) A totally different October surprise. You're welcome, dmd25!
I am quite sure that we won't have him back on the radio any time soon--so I agree with you that he has to go on to do something wonderful so that we don't miss him quite so much!
Scott McClelland is a nice man ... But I am sooooooo glad Tony is the Press Sec now
I don't have to yell at my TV because Tony smacks these reporters upside their heads with class
