Gabler: Media Have 'Tread Lightly' on Rush The 'Cancer'
Fox News Watch/NewsBusters ^

A month or so ago I would have said that Neal Gabler and I inhabit different planets, but his apparent home of has recently been demoted from planetary status. While I'm off searching for another metaphor, let me pass along the latest comment from the decidedly liberal denizen of Fox News Watch that made me reflect on just how distinct a world view we have. In the course of discussing on this evening's show the controversy that erupted this past week over Rush Limbaugh's comments about Michael Fox, Gabler had this to say:
"The media has tread lightly on Rush and his criticism of [Michael J.] Fox. To my mind, Rush is a cancer to America and hatemongers are marginalized, and why the media does not marginalize Rush, I don't know."
I strongly disagree with Gabler when it comes to his characterization of Rush, whom I consider a great American voice. We'll grant that Neal's entitled to his opinion. But he certainly is not entitled to his facts. To claim that the media has "tread lightly" in criticizing Rush's criticism of Fox is, simply, to be detached from reality.
Look no further than NewBusters for proof:
If there was one man in America whom the MSM vilified this past week, it was Rush. Why would Gabler compromise his reputation by suggesting the contrary?

THe media doesn't marginalize Rush because Rush, in case you didn't know it, is the media to most of America.

Gabler is a full blown moonbat these days but once upon a time he was capable of cogent writing. Back when he penned the classic "An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood"

Neal is the main reason I don't listen to News Watch anymore.
A discussion of serious issues, by default, will not include a DUer

We need to get this "man" out in front of the cameras at EVERY possible opportunity.
His "rational" and "clear headed" assessment of Rush Limbaugh is a Must See for anyone who believes the left wing can ever be reasoned with or given the benefit of the doubt.
Keep it up Neal, we need you now more than ever before.

I don't usually see Fox News Watch anymore. Gabler's so obnoxious that he ruins the show.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
I have been debating whether I should stop watching that show until after Neal Gabler goes postal, or wait until it happens on live TV. (Is that show live?)
At first he was a nuisance, but each week he seems to become more ... I don't even know what the word is, but he seems dangerous.

Cancer and hatemongers?
Who publishes national secrets, brags about killing the Patriot Act, wants rights for terrorists, calls Bush a liar and Hitler, compares our troops to Pol Pot?
The American Left.

I saw this show and it made me mad. Gabler is who? Miss Priss from American University just wants an apology. Don't bother her with facts, she's the PC police from the vice and virtue squad. Earlier in the show she went on about how bad Iraq was this week, oblivious to the fact that there were five blessed days of quiet. They don't need to know the facts, because they have their marching orders.i can't be bothered.

Gabler is making fun of cancer patients. He should be banished from the airwaves for making light of such a serious and deadly ailment.
Isn't it easy to take a comment completely out of context and intentionally distort what a member of the media thinks?
