Politically, one could easily mistake Michael Wiener Mike Savage for Rev. Fred Phelps.

Never really cared for Savage from the git-go. I originally thought it was the pointless bombast. Now I guess it was just the phoniness.

Savage is a narcissistic, self-aggrandizing, egoistic, disingenuous, liberal in conservative wrapping, moron. And I spotted this phony years ago.

Michael Savage does not appeal to reason or sanity, but instead to fear, anger and nostalgia for the good ol' days. His facts are frequently wrong and his conclusions are usually erroneous. He says just enough of the right things to keep angry, fearful listeners listening to him.
If you were to analyze the positions he's taken, you could reasonalby conclude that he's a leftist.

I've heard him on WOOD, in Grand Rapids, and also read through his Political Zoo. He doesn't seem to have a kind word for anyone, not Republican leaders, nor his fellow hosts. He is almost a liberal's idea of what a conservative should sound like.
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Not one bit surprised.
Savage's goal is OBVIOUSLY to discredit conservatives by acting insane.
Anyone who falls for his routine is completely naive.........or a fellow liberal with Savage.

Finny said (in #176), I'm beginning to think some of the folks here are right -- that it's not a case of being misguided, it's a case of being a saboteur.
Dr. Watson finally got a clue!
Ive pinged the California Ilk Herd. As of post #453 theyd not shown up here, at all. They dont like it when they modus operandi is exposed. Divide the base, isolate differing points of view, display bullying intolerance and extreme rants. Any rant will do, as long as it embarrasses conservatives and moves the middleground away from them.
The few times Ive listened to Savage Ive found him to be an embarrassment, doing more harm than good. His rants resonate to us, but alienates the middleground. Is this his goal, I dont know, Ive not listened to him enough.
Finny, they are the type of saboteurs know as fifth columnists. They portend to have impeccable conservative credentials, but theyre pretending. Pretending to be extreme ranting right-wingers. They do this to neutralize FR and the conservative cause which it supports. The more people who begin to recognize their deceit the sooner their division can be exposed. Call em on it when you see it.
Ive only pinged the California herd, but these fifth columnists are all over the place, anytime there is an emotional issues, anytime there is angry disagreement, anytime there is bullying. Call em on it when you see it. Dont take their bait and contribute to whatever emotional issue theyre using, call em on their personal attempts at division.

doesn't surprise me at one time he was a dem (his right as an american of course) i listen to him and lately he is getting on my nerves so i turn him off because lately i cant figure out if he is left or right or in the middle. and he has a very dislike for the white house, he cuts rush down, hannity and his favorite o'rielly so this supporting of jerry brown doesn't surprise me. i guess he likes the fact that oakland has the highest murder rate, right now and he wants to support the man with this record to be incharge of our state i guess that means he might be voting for phil for gov to.

I've listened to Savage many times although not regularly. My conclusions about him are that:
1) He loves having contrarian views to everyone else in the media. He does this to a fault.
2) He thinks he's smarter than he actually is. For example, I heard him say Clarence Thomas was the first black supreme court justice. I don't know if he later corrected himself on this.
3) He likes complaining.
4) He's passionate about maintaining American culture. That is he believes in putting a halt to illegal immigration and would like to stop immigration of Muslims into America.
5) Hes self-important.

Are they personal friends? If they are personal friends he may have donated out of the friendship.
Just and idea, I don't like Savage anyway, but do we know his reasoning or just flinging accusations?
