I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.
Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:
Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.
As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."
RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

You are the one absurdly calling Savage a left-winger, so perhaps you should take your own advice. This is my last comment on the matter. I don't think I have ever had a FR exchange with so little of actual substance contributed by the other person.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America.
We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
When one gets offended they can no longer function or reason rationally. On FR you have the Rush bots who Savage has offended, you have the Hannity-bots, also offended by Savage, you have the Levin-bots, whose leader is the bodyguard and attack dog for defending Hannity's honor from Savage's attacks, and then last but not least you have the Bush-bots.
So all in all I'd assume that represents a pretty good percentage of people here on FR and elsewhere who take it personal. Only the conservative 'purists' like you and me can understand a 'Savage'. LOL!
i didn't say you were a donk.
but i think you said i was an ignorant, peanut-eating goober.
Yep, that about summarizes it.
Good thing the ol' A&M radio has a smart feller on it to provide you with opinions.
"What? A donation to Brown would undo all his anti-gay coments over the years?"
Those anti-gay comments look really sick now that Weiner has been outed.
SEE MY POST #524.
I know you're not a fan of Mike, Mike, but which bot type are you? If you read this thread at all, I've already delineated how I feel about the Brown donation.
I seriously doubt that Savage's donation had anything to do with Brown's liberal credentials, yet I guess Savage can't disclose what it was really all about. However if the race for AG were close and the conservative opponent had a shot at winning, I guarantee you Savage would not have looked twice at Brown.
But rather than keep your mind focused on the BIG picture you want to nit-pick on this one thing on Savage's plate hoping to smear him. Savage's conservative credentials slam-dunks this seemingly unorthodox move on his part.
Answering your hostile ping: You actually think "California Ilk Herd" is clever, don't you?
You're the one attempting to divide people on this forum.
I checked my Vietnam Veterans ping list and you're on it. If you'd like to be removed, just say the word.
I originally signed up on FR as a troops supporter and remain such.
Your spew is actually quite forgettable.
Amen, Norm. I haven't even posted on this or any of the other current Savage discussions.
"Jerry Brown is an Independent. My eyes rolled when you tried to tar him with the donk brush.
You tied Brown to Hillary why? Just to fear monger?"
Jerry Brown is a Democrat.
Are you lying?
"The author of this hit piece on Savage obviously doesn't listen to his show as I could not fathom where he comes off calling Savage a left-winger."
Is it a hit piece when it's the truth?
"Then why didn't Weiner have Hannity on his show to support his opposition to the ports thing instead of Chuck Schumer? Oh, I forgot. Savage has a psychotic hatred of anybody more successful than himself."
Really good point.
"We just trying to help fire up the most boring and mundane thread on the board. And for this we get no love!!!"
lol
"Where do you get this manufactured tripe? Savage has never advocated voting for Democrats and is not advocating for anyone to vote for Moonbeam."
Are you lying or stupid? Weiner gave 5.6 k to the Brown campaign.
How is that not "advocated voting for Democrats" ?
Howdy Checkers, I've read some of your recent posts on the Savage threads as you and your ilk continually try to stir up hate and discontent among the Savage faithful. But today is Sunday so I'm on my best behavior.
This hit piece is from a guy who admits he never liked Savage so if you don't like somebody, you're not going to bother to listen to his show much, if at all. So he hears about this donation to Brown and voila suddenly it's because Savage is really a left-winger? I don't call myself whatisthetruth for no reason and my truth-detector tells me this is a hit piece with no basis in FACT. Why?
Savage is not a left-winger! This guy is a smear merchant. Do you read his columns often?
"The GOP candidate in CN supports the war on Terror too."
Let me know when he breaks 10% in the polls.
Btw, isn't he the one who goes to Casinos using an alias? Whattup with that?
"here's one: Bush and the GOP support of a liberal democrat and not the GOP contender?
Is it about power or principal?"
What are you talking about?
"If you defend and agree with Weiner, then I would contest the fact that you are a "Conservative"."
I'm coming to same realization.
The facts are are on the table. Weiner is bad news.
