Michael Savage: Left-Winger

I've always known there was something wrong with Michael Savage's schtick. It's intolerable. He talks like an absolute madman. He is just about as intemperate as you can get and still be on the radio.

Now I know what was wrong. The whole thing is a put-on:

Supporting a candidate out of your own wallet may be the most accurate gauge of what a donor believes in his heart. So it should come as a shock to fans to learn where their hero distributes his own political gifts. Which are not ungenerous. Just ask Jerry Brown, the decidedly liberal candidate (pro-abortion, pro-gun control, etc.) for California attorney general.

As the San Francisco Chronicle reports, Savage is a top contributor to Brown's campaign against conservative state senator Chuck Poochigian. His gift of $5,600, the maximum allowable under state law, was merited, Savage told the Chronicle after being outed. Why? Because "You have to make choices in an imperfect world."

RIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHTTTTT.

Michael Savage PhD is Mosad.

Mossad? Interesting.

That is the only interesting comment I have seen on this thread. Shalom...

Well, I'd like to take exception to your characterization of the Savage critics. I can only speak for myself. I have a problem with him contributing a significant amount of money to a liberal candidate for AG, who is a dedicated gun-grabber. "F" rating from the NRA. Not even a gentleman's "D". That's my problem.

I couldn't care less about whether Savage has a schtick or not.

The Brown endorsement is a very rare exception for Savage.

Michael Reagan, John Gibson, Tony Blankley and Joseph Farah all stupidly called for Denny Hastert to resign within 24 hours after the Foley news broke. Are we to never ever listen to them again for the rest of their careers because of their idiotic position? I don't think so. I am not happy Savage gave money to Brown. But I am willing to overlook it because he is so right on nearly every single issue. Certainly he is more consistently "right-wing" than either Bush or Limbaugh.

Joe Liberman is a liberal northeast senator. let's not forget he IS A PART OF THE RAT party. Is he less a rat than lamont. Certainly.

It says more about the state of the GOP when you have to have the vote of 1/2 rat instead of a whole rat. There is nothing conservative about Joe Lieberman.
If WOT is that important to you, as it is to most of us, I suggest that we secure our borders. That will go a long way in helping secure our future.

"...Savage has demonstrated clear right-wing views down the line."

Dude, the evidence is all around you. If it were a snake, it would bite you right now.

Why does he reward liberals, fights Conservatives, and claims to be a Conservative?

Looks like your assertions have bore fruit. Score one for true conservatism. Can't wait to call my good friend who is a Savage junkie because he's independent, nonpartisan, blah, blah, blah...

This explains the attacks on the President, Rush, etc. and coming off like a right wing nut job. Savage is shilling for the left.

That's probably the general idea. Savage is as good a spokesperson as Fred Phelps.

Savage is a conservative who is a harsh critic of the Republicans at times and that is why a lot people on FR and in some other conservative circles don't like him.

I don't care whether he supports Bush or criticizes Bush. I don't care whether he's sincere or whether his so-called "conservatism" (I'd call him a demagogic populist myself, but whatever) is an act. I don't like him because he's an idiot. And he's a lazy idiot. He doesn't do his own research, apparently, and won't even read research others have done. He pontificates again and again on subjects without even having the most basic facts to hand. Time and again callers get the better of him, and he's too dumb to even know it.

He's a two shot: He discredits conservatism first because his positions are extreme and/or loopy, and second because he's too dumb and poorly informed to convincingly defend his positions even when he happens to be right.

If he's also a complete phony that only makes him marginally worse IM(notso)HO.

So the "evidence is all around", but yet you don't even have an argument. Dude.

Where do you get this manufactured tripe? Savage has never advocated voting for Democrats and is not advocating for anyone to vote for Moonbeam.

not sure if have listened to him very long or not, but before election he says things like democrats and republicans are the same what the point in even voting, i heard him say this before 2002 and 2004 elections repeatedly 2-3 weeks before elections.

"Actually, a Weiner, Levin, Rush, Hannity fan calling the American Spectator authors morons for this superficial tripe. Absolutely."

What?

No attack on "Hush Bimbo"?

No attack on "Vanity"? Thanks for not propagating Weinerisms here.

Why do all of the other talk show threads bond in a comnunity here?

Why is Savage isolated?

Is it because everyone else does not possess Weiner's view of "Conservative ideological purity"?

If you are not with him, you are a BOT right?

...Savage defense of conservatism hasn't changed one iota and I don't see how this Moonbean donation has hurt that defense.

Sure, just like it will help the conservative cause for conservatives to sit out this election and teach the pubbies a lesson - by helping Rats get elected!

"It reveals that you attach a lot more importance to whether or not a person is Jewish than do I, or the folks in my family, or most of the people I know, or most of the respected commentators I read or listen to."

I said nothing of my attachments and their meaning, nothing of the importance of being Jewish or not Jewish.

I wrote of others attachments. My own do not relate to anything we are discussing except in the form of opinion, which I stated plainly.

There are no hidden items to reveal. You have uncovered nothing.

"It reveals that you tend to suspect an anti-semite behind every tree."

One example is not a tendency; it does not justify this suspicion you think I hold of racists and their location relative to trees.

"It reveals that you are easily offended and defensive."

Easily offended. You're saying I'm "th-ensitive"? Well I'll try not to cry.

Defensive - as in overly defensive, or somehow flawed and protective of my condition... despite that I specifically invited your criticism, this makes me "defensive" instead of the contrary.

"It reveals that you would prefer to find a shallow motive behind FReepers' criticism of Michael Weiner/Savage."

Shallow motives are indeed evident in the abusing of his name, but I would neither prefer nor dislike this observation so long as it's accurate.

"MOST IMPORTANTLY, it reveals an amazing ability to be obtuse to the double-pun of "Weiner" prounced as either "whiner" or "weener" (as in the common colloquialism for a vital part of the male anatomy)."

"Weiner" DOES sound like "whiner"! I am clearly dealing with geniuses of wit.

Perhaps you are correct though. Skillfully guised anti-semitic jibes are not even slightly possible, coming from those who would disparage Michael Savage.

We are in agreement.

Sorry, not buying it. In the San Francisco Bay Area, it's called "insurance money".

Bingo. I had to get to post 133 before someone mentioned this. Thank, you Alia. I read the article and noted that Savage's business made the donation. Businesses routinely give money to candidates whose positions they don't support. It's a practical matter. It allows the business owner to influence the candidate if elected. So, why didn't Savage give money to Brown's opponent? I don't know. Maybe Brown has a lock, given that Cali is a blue state, and Brown is well known.

BTW, Savage is very "hit or miss." He's occasionally brilliant but also indulges in frequent, long periods of inane chatter. He's often funny. I find him entertaining.

If you defend and agree with Weiner, then I would contest the fact that you are a "Conservative".

I do agree with 'Weiner' that abortion is an atrocity, I do agree with 'Weiner' that same-sex marriage is an affront to decency, I do agree with 'Weiner' that the Pendelton 8 are being railroaded, I do agree with 'Weiner' that we need to get tougher in Iraq in order to start winning the war, I do agree with 'Weiner' that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder, I do agree with 'Weiner' that the media and their Democratic allies are the "ENEMY WITHIN", I do agree with 'Weiner' about our borders being over-run, our common language being diluted, our culture being shredded.

I could go on and on but afterall this is just Der "Weiner' that I'm agreeing with. So start contesting FRiend!

<< Yawn! Another moron comes to the wrong conclusions about Savage based on a single contribution. Anyone who actually LISTENS to Savage knows he is a far right-winger, a patriot, and a great American. First on the SwiftVets and Sinclair, first on Dubai ports, second-to-none on Islamofascism and immigration. Is he a BushBot? Hell no. And thank God for that. >>

Phew.

A lonely voice of sanity in a thread that so far pretty much amounts to a liberal-like hate fest on the Right's most intelligent Voice of Sanity, second best regular spokesman, (Nobody, 'cept perhaps me, comes even close to the inimitable Ms Coulter) having something approaching an ordinary American's opinions -- and falibilities!

Thank you.

BUMPping

Rush puts a conservative spin on things. He sees the world through conservative glasses.

Limbaugh spins things.

Spin detracts from truth.

Ergo Limbaugh lies.

And when exactly did you meet him and did he give you leave to call him familiar?

Dang, you are so brainwashed.

Try reading.. FR is a great place to do it.

Folks will actually point out the spin here.. as opposed to the pure swirley spin Limbaugh gives you.

Left or right, spin is spin and never a good thing.
