"sexually explicit"

That doesn't begin to describe it.

Severely perverted doesn't even do it...

Subscription not required, just signup. They shrug off the kiddie porn and brings to Webb's defense to offset the story a fight Allen had with his sister when they were children. Then they get into the books written by Scooter Libby and Lynn Cheney.

The Republican incumbent, George Allen, drew attention to sexually explicit Pedophila and Incest passages from novels written by his Democratic challenger, Jim Webb.

A more truthful lead-in from the paper of record, the paper that says its just about sex.

Then they get into the books written by Scooter Libby and Lynn Cheney.

Wolf Blitzer interviewed Lynn Cheney yesterday and insinuated that she wrote explicit lesbian sex scenes in a novel. She was EXASPERATED with him and put him in his place.

The only reason the other suggested headline for this article ("NYTimes Attacks George Allen Again Hoping Like Hell That the Smear Will Help Webb Win Allen's Senate Seat") was not used was because NYTimes editors realized that it was a "dog bites man" sort of headline.

"Maybe Pinch."

I wouldn't be surprised if Pinch is fantasizing about being the young boy turned upside down in the lurid passage from Webb's book. I expect Pinch will add a version of the act (involving consenting adults, of course) to his bedroom repertoire in the near future.

What's good for the goose... I can't really say that it's a measure of a person's character, what they write about in fictional novels, but it's sure as hell fair to throw back some of the same muck that you've been hit with. Seems like Webb can dish it out, but can't take it. I can't believe he was once the Gipper's secdef.

Ok, let's say a person made a living by write incest and child porn , would that measure the person's character? How about if the author slips in the incest and child porn only occasionally?

Allen would have won anyway.

While I enjoy a DUmmy get taken to the woodshed like this, I don't like the fact that Allen is closing the campaign with this issue.

It does not bode well for a prospective WH run in 2008. He should have stayed above the fray and won on issues and record!

"I can't believe he was once the Gipper's secdef."

He was appointed secretary of the navy, and very good for that position, under Reagan, in the 1980s.

In 2006 (or frankly any other year) he isn't suited to be elected to be a senator of Virginia.

(he was never secdef)
