2 Public Buses Torched in Paris Suburb

CLICHY-SOUS-BOIS, France -- Police deployed 4,000 reinforcements as marauding youths torched at least two public buses Friday, the anniversary of the deaths of two teenagers that ignited weeks of riots in largely immigrant housing projects across France.

After the buses were burned, Paris' transport authority curtailed bus service in the Seine-Saint-Denis region north of the capital, which is home to thousands of immigrants and their French-born children.

Thierre Ange, a 19-year-old witness, said four men attacked the bus, "made everyone get off, then they hit a woman and dragged out the bus driver by his tie" and torched the bus with a gasoline bomb in a bottle. The blackened carcass of another bus that was burned earlier stood across town in Le Blanc Mesnil.

Flaming cars became a symbol of the rioting last year, which jolted France into recognizing a failure to give equal opportunities to many minorities — especially those of Arab and black African origin — and the country's 5 million-strong Muslim population.

The national police said 50 units of extra officers and riot police — or about 4,000 men — were deployed across the country to brace for a possible resurgence of violence. Some 7,000 police are at the ready on an average night in France, officials have said.

The outburst of anger at the accidental deaths of the two teens — who were electrocuted in a power substation in Clichy-sous-Bois while hiding from police on Oct. 27, 2005 — grew into a broader challenge of the French state.

Several hundred people marched silently Friday through Clichy-sous-Bois, northeast of Paris, in honor of Zyed Benna and Bouna Traore. Benna, 17, was buried in his father's native Tunisia. Traore, 15, was of Mauritanian descent.

How long will the French continue watching their country be torched? Until they run out of cars? Or policemen??

Here's a quote from one article.

", Socialist Party Presidential candidate Dominique Strauss-Kahn has called for the removal of all riot police transport vehicles from the suburbs as a sort of peace offering in the hopes of calming things down during this One Year Anniversary of the 2005 riots. He referred to certain suburbs as "militarily occupied areas" and said that French youths who mill about aimlessly in these neighborhoods should not be treated as if they were on "Indian reservations".

I suppose these 'marauding youths who torched at least two public buses Friday' are Muslims...

Militant flaxen-haired Lutherans.

What's funny is there is no mention of some of the causes of the high unemployment of the "youths". Last year there was rioting/ protests over the mere contemplation by the french govt to increase the work week. Non, they said. They drive businesses away with their socialist policies and then get violent because there are no jobs to be had. Where's that picture of the guy hitting himself in the head with a hammer?

Hey France ship the wine over here for safe keeping. Face it once you surrender and Sharia law goes into effect you're not going to be allowed to drink it anyway. I'll take 10 cases of Rothschild's finest, thank you very much.

Four unarmed men? Four? 4? WTF! What would have happened if a bus patron attacked them back? If 4 thugs tried to do this to a bus I was on, I'd go in swinging.

They must have been pretty big, muscular, hairy youths.

They torch about 150 cars a night in France so I guess they want a bigger fire with buses.

The Religion of Peace is up and running on its gas bottles.

However, gas is $6.00 + per gallon so they may be using something else.

"In the past, Europeans just stole our land! Now they have stolen our self respect! No peace without equality! We, Muslim youths in France, demand equality, or monetary compensation from the racist, anti-Muslim French people. Or else we leave our government built slums and take to the tourists filled streets and show the world our demands!"

Coming soon.

FYI, when Khomeini's guys took over the Iranian Embassy in DC they dumped $70,000 worth of wine in the courtyard fountain.

I think your mixing up Yout riots. There were two, one was from the Anglo Youts and that was because they were upset that they might have to actually work. The second was the Muslim Youts who were upset becasue two of their brothers in death were supposedly killed by the police. In fact they were not killed by the police but from their own stupid actions if I remember correctly. In any case the ROP needs little in the way of an excuse to do what they do best, Kill, Burn, Loot and Destroy. They proceeded to riot for a month and did the world a favor by eliminating about 3,000 crappy French cars from exsistance.

The Froggies need one of these.

Send in Spooky, it's the Halloween season after all.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid it'll be another missed oportunity to take out a large number of ummm, "undesireables" in one fell swoop. Like that funeral a few weeks ago.

Yeah, so many riots, so little time. Actually, I did realize there were two different earlier riots, I just did not articulate it properly. The leftist white parisians rioted to prevent themselves from actually being productive human beings, which had the byproduct of destroying any possibility for an improving business climate in france & thereby created fodder for the muslim youts to riot with some semblance of an excuse (their low station in life).

But it's "THE MAN'S" fault.

Why oh why do ANY Americans, democrat or not, look at Europe as a model of how they want the United States to be??? Are they insane?

as Ann Coulter asked in Godless, why haven't homosexual creatures become extinct?

I've got the book, but am embarrased to say I haven't gotten very far in it.

I curious what Ms. Coulter's answer is, do know what page it's on?

Oh, and per regulations:
