Active Duty Troops Send Messages to Congress Opposing War in Iraq
Oct. 27, 2006 They are not pacifists. They don't represent a political party and you won't see them in an anti-war rally. Most say they are proud Americans. They are proud to serve and wear the uniform of the United States military. But they are against the war in Iraq, and they are speaking out about it.

btw, I bet those soldiers are PA or Jag you find lots of leftists in those sections.
All we have are a bunch of Perfumed Princes. I wish General Honore was running things over there.
Thanks for the link... I had a hunch these people belong to the DBM's Mother Sheehan brigade...
I have no doubt
In any combat situation since Ghengis Kahn swept down from the steppes, anyone who cannot find at least 3 soldiers who think this Mongol Horde routine is a "bad gig," just isn't trying. And ABC thinks this is news?

Your country thanks you... God bless...
I kinda doubt that the troops in WWII were any different. In fact, I had the opportunity to read some old stars and strips editions from WWII and you would be surprised at the number of cry babies they had during that war, mainly rear echelon types.
The longer this war in Iraq lasts the more you will see this kind of talk. Thye troops can not trust anyone in Iraq. They are fighting the Al Qaueda, the militias and the Saddamists. Everyone in Iraq seems to be setting up IEDs on the roads to kill our troops and many Iraqis cheer on the killers.
Personnally I see nothing wrong with troops in combat expressing their views and if we were winning the war and saw some progress you probably would not hear a thing from them. But, they cannot see the progress as far as fighting the terrorists.

A more accurate measure of the opinions of the soldiers is the forums on AKO or Army Knowledge Online. There is some antiwar posters there who is in the military but they are outnumbered at least 10 to 1 IMO. You have to either be in the Army, or a civilian DA worker or a retiree to even access the site.
If you get elected to Congress and want to know what the troops are concerned about it would be a good place to learn if you can either get access as a Congressman or find someone in the Army (Active duty or Reserves) to give you access.
I agree with you but the liberal media is using anything to justify their anti Iraq and anti Bush cause. We know this well. Soldiers in WWII felt the same. I had emails from friends who got out of the military because of Clinton way back but that was because of Clinton not because of the military. They described what was going on and why they left.
