Yeah but Reagan didn't write the script. He was just an actor playing a role written by other people. That's what actors have to do. They play roles created by writers. If actors avoided all roles with any violent scenes they might not work for an entire year. Also, violence is far more common and accepted in our society than the trash Webb wrote about.

Reagan's contribution in your example is acting, not creating it. Webb's the one dreaming up sordid tales about strippers slicing bananas with their anatomy.

For many, there is a big difference between acting in a film as a gangster (depending on the agenda of the film) and writing what sounds like explicit child porn. From the little I have read, Webb's novel is sickening.
