When I posted earlier, I had not read any of the passages. To be perfectly honest, I don't want the mental image of the one sentence excerpt I read soon thereafter, so I'm going to leave this subject. I don't know Mr. Webb. I haven't read more than one chapter of his books. (One chapter of Fields of Fire, I think.) I wouldn't vote for him regardless of what he wrote.
And if the readers are perverted, then everyone on FreeRepublic who has read the excerpts posted on this thread is a pervert. Maybe there should be a warning. I had to click off this thread earlier because my son walked into the room. I wouldn't want him reading this.
