STARKE, Fla. -- Danny Rolling was executed Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. for the 1990 murders and mutilations of five college students in Gainesville.
... Rolling was strapped on a gurney, placed on a heart monitor and wheeled into the execution chamber late Wednesday afternoon, where the eight carefully marked syringes used in a lethal injection awaited.
Local 10 Reporter Witnesses Execution
Local 10's Jeff Weinsier was the only South Florida reporter to witness the execution along with family members and others.
... Weinsier said that Rolling died without making any apology to the families or showing any sign of remorse. He was declared dead at 6:13 p.m.

Was Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton there to protest?
Must be the welfare lawyer system....full employment with years of appeals on the taxpayers dole.
The rat bastard deserved to die. I guarantee there were protesters outside the prison, even as countless innocent babies are killed in abortion clinics around the country without any mention.
The prisoner has been remanded to a Higher Court. He died more peacefully than his victims.
I don't know if those two fiends were there. The report did mention that death row opponents were there protesting the execution.
But remember Rollings was white. So Jackson and Sharpton could not play the race card with his conviction and death.
In this case, it's a Lower Court.
Richard Speck lived half of his life in jail for his crime. Anytime some lib tries to tell you that the death penalty has no place in our society needs to see the video of Richard Speck doing cocaine, having sex, and waving around hundred dollar bills while in prison. Our prisons are corrupt.
Speck raped and slaughtered something like 8 nurses at a girls' dorm in one night (one hid under the bed and lived to identify him).
I will have to check but I thought Rollings pleaded guilty.
Still he was allowed to take up O2 for way too long.
What is it with Gainesville and serial killers?
This smuck gets executed while the mass murderers and child sacrifers at Gitmo, according to the RAT party, should be released. Go figure.
a candle lights his head...
Too bad they didn't cut off his head and slice him down the middle like he did one of his victims.
I was right Rolling did plead guilty then appealed and tried to withdraw the plea. The Florida State University has a extensive data file on Florida criminal cases. I was unable to copy any of the court documents on Rolling but if you go to :
www.law.fsu.edu/library/
and enter Rolling into the search option the site brings up the documents.
"Why has this POS been taking up space and oxygen for so long?"
Might like to contrast this with the last execution in Britain in 1964: date of murder 7th April; execution: 13th August. Just over 4 months!
Well, looks like another reason to light up a good cigar!
Well done, Florida and Governor BUSH!
seems to be something very American about this type of crime: the Zantopps, the Clutter murders (In Cold Blood), the family of 5 murdered by the cult leader Lundgren, executed this week. Basically, murderfests for the sheer hell of it.
Rolling was a sick bastard. He could be the poster boy for evil. Truth is these ogres commit crime because they like it and because they have the opportunity. No amount of rehab and/or prison can reform these soulless monsters.
Rolling knew what he did was wrong. He plead guilty then when he received the death sentence appealed the sentencing. So obviously his guilty plea was not out of remorse but out of the hope that the State would not impose death. Like all sociopaths Rolling never did anything that was not for his own benefit or gratification it. The fate of victims does not even enter into the subconscious of these deathb bringers.
Will he be picking up satan's Ferrari cake this Halloween?
