Nothing is wrong with Pennsylvania folks and it's not Santorum who is the primary focus of the peoples' rath. Unfortunately, he is seen as a surrogate for GWB who has become one of the most reviled president in modern U.S. history. While the popular disdain for Nixon was based in his attitude and belief of being above the law, GWB's fall from acceptance by the majority of the populace has been caused by the perception, whether valid or not is irrelevant, of failed foreign policy decisions, being the handmaiden of corporate America and disingenuousness in dealing with the public. Thus, the polls in PA are a restatement of the overwhelming dissatisfaction with the administration and Santorum being the subject and object closest at hand to express it. Brilliant and competent as he may be, he has become the victim of this popular syndrome.
