Nothing is wrong with Pennsylvania folks and it's not Santorum who is the primary focus of the peoples' rath. Unfortunately, he is seen as a surrogate for GWB who has become one of the most reviled president in modern U.S. history. While the popular disdain for Nixon was based in his attitude and belief of being above the law, GWB's fall from acceptance by the majority of the populace has been caused by the perception, whether valid or not is irrelevant, of failed foreign policy decisions, being the handmaiden of corporate America and disingenuousness in dealing with the public. Thus, the polls in PA are a restatement of the overwhelming dissatisfaction with the administration and Santorum being the subject and object closest at hand to express it. Brilliant and competent as he may be, he has become the victim of this popular syndrome.

Please forego the flames, in this message I am only the messenger of a neutral view.

And, oh yes, GO NAVY--today beat Notre Dame!!

GO NAVY--today beat Notre Dame?

An atheist is a man who doesn't care who wins the Notre Dame/SMU game. You, my nautical friend are perilously close! I am worried about your immortal soul, sailor.

Thanks for this post.

I have been wondering why no one on the Republican Team picked up the ball when Newt Gingrich made similar observations.

News Flash, Mr and Mrs. Democrat Voter, your party has not acknowledged that we are in a WOrld War.

GWB's fall from acceptance by the majority of the populace has been caused by the perception, whether valid or not is irrelevant...

You're not the messenger of a neutral view, you're the messenger and advocate for an insipid, irresponsible and idiotic view.

As Americans, we're endowed with great blessings and freedoms. With those blessings and freedoms, however, come great responsibility. Good government isn't something to be sold to you, or the result of someone explaining it to you in a persuasive and non-demanding way...it's your responsibility, it's YOUR government. That's the difference between citizens and subjects, and what Franklin was referring to when he replied, "A Republic, Ma'am, if you can keep it."

It's no politician's responsibility to educate, persuade, or sway you. You, as an American citizen, cause the government we get, for better or worse...the quality of the voter determines the quality of the politician, not the other way around.

If anyone needs to clean up their act, it's you...and your neighbors, for whom reality is bothersome, and therefore IRRELEVANT.
