It's time for Andy to put his teeth back in, trim his eyebrows, take his meds and fade into the sunset.

There is too much truth, and far too many facts, in this letter by Larry Elder for the ideologically destitute like Andy Rooney, Jon Stewart, CNN, WAPO, everyone at the NYT...Nancy Pelosi...etc....

"following the first Persian Gulf War"
This is the only thing I disagree with here. Correct me if I'm wrong. There is no first or second Gulf war. It's the continuation of the sa,e war, cause there was never a peace treaty signed, there was an armistice or a ceasefire. Saddam violated the conditions of the ceasefire, so the war never stopped. This campaign could be referred two as Phase 2 or the Gulf war.

"President Bush sketched an expansive vision last night of what he expects to accomplish by a war in Iraq. Instead of focusing on eliminating weapons of mass destruction, or reducing the threat of terror to the United States, Mr. Bush talked about establishing a 'free and peaceful Iraq' that would serve as a 'dramatic and inspiring example' to the entire Arab and Muslim world, provide a stabilizing influence in the Middle East and even help end the Arab-Israeli conflict."

Andy Looney is of my generation and has been a looney leftist all of his life.....which is a long time.

These leftists have used the WMD issue all along to cloud the real reason of why the war in Iraq is being waged. Just their way to undermine the president and defeat their own country...in the name of regaining their power.

Luckily most Americans understand and know exactly about what Mr. Elders just wrote about. That is why Bush hog-whipped Viet-Kerry by almost 4 MILLION votes.

"And as they used to say in Moscow: It is no accident, comrades, that Kerry took a good butt whipping at the polls."

When your voter base is stoned out kids or welfare bums you have to break issues down into "either/or."

Good for Larry Elder. Is there any chance of Mr. Elder reading this article in the Andy Rooney time slot?

What exactly is 60 Minutes? It is a collection of irrelevant old men who are desperately clinging to that tired old show. They do have Leslie Stahl, owner of the largest bad wig collection in the world, a third rate reporter if there every was one, and Andy Rooney, totally useless and clueless Andy. Last week he wanted the POTUS to surrender to the terrorists. Next week, he'll use his segment to hold forth on belly button lint.

60 Minutes. They're old, they're ugly, they are EXACTLY what CBS is all about...DELUSIONAL BS. Please see Perky Shoe Model Show to confirm.

If that's the case, then it isn't even a war at all under any formal definition. The U.S. never declared war against Iraq -- either in 2003 or in 1990.

I would also like to know what qualifies Mr. Rooney, or any other person who is not actually doing any fighting for our country, to be taken seriously. It has constantly amazed me that a plethora of unqualified people have concluded this, that, and the other because it sounds good to some.

And it is also good to know how very much these people seem to care not for the Iraqi people, that have been slaughtered by a ruthless dictator, for that appears to be quite irrelevant...

In the Korean War, we lost 37,000

And what did we get in return for a cease fire and 37,000 lost lives? (Not exactly "cut and run", but close enough.) The world's biggest nutjob was allowed to pursue nuclear missiles.

Damn right he is a great spokesman for the truth..
Rooney is a egomaniac who is still in the spotlight
because he spouts the CBS bash Bush line..He is an
old codger (like me) who acts and looks like he hates
anything and everything....He would be long gone
from any credible organization....Jake
