Nicaragua's legislature is expected today to approve a tough law that outlaws all forms of abortion, including those procedures intended to save the life of a pregnant woman.
The measure has been supported by most major political parties ahead of the Nov. 5 presidential election, as they seek to win over voters in this overwhelmingly Roman Catholic country. Leaders of the Catholic Church in Nicaragua helped draft the bill and have mobilized followers to support it.

This article is about as far from "Fair and Balanced" as one can get. It's peppered with quotes from abortion advocates but only one from a supporter of the new law. And I doubt seriously they're outlawing procedures to save a pregnant woman's life.
I wonder if folks here believe this penalty is severe enough?
I wonder if this is one of the "international laws" our Supreme Court will follow when this issue comes before them. I believe Poland is also about to pass an abortion law.
I doubt it. The only international laws that our courts tend to look to are those that reflect and support the Left's causes, which this definitely does not!
