From a reader:
Jonah, Over on Freerepublic, I've been one of the people who consistently has been chanting for abandoning the Republicans. The fact of the matter is a republican in congress has a lot more in common with a democrat in congress than either of them has with me and the other folks who only get to spend their own money. The contempt they hold for your average American slips out from time to time and it's always disheartening. So come election time, it seems the only tool I have to get them to listen to me is to threaten to withhold my vote and potentially move the scope of all political discourse further to the right. But when the moment arrives, I'm going to hold my nose and vote for the republican lying weasel instead of handing a victory to the democratic lying weasel.
I mean I'm angry... but I'm not an idiot.
Staying home elects a democrat
CT,
Straight Republican vote for my husband and I in Minnesota. To heck with the polls. We do NOT believe their lies and we have our convictions. We will be at the polls on November 7th!
That's too bad. We need to encourage some real conservatives to oppose our RINO's in the primaries.
The place to make changes is in the primaries, no matter what it takes!
Come election time, ya vote for the team! Any questions? ...............FRegards
You've seen B's homes/shacks from the roadside and you've noticed that many have collapsed after only a year or two. You visit one of B's homes for sale and you immediately notice all the shoddy work and lack of furnishings. Everything is substandard or completely unacceptable. You talk to other people who have bought B's houses and hear them rant about the horrible dwelling they purchased. But to teach Builder A a lesson, you decide to go with Builder B even though you know B will be much worse than A. That's the logic of all the people who are going to stay home or vote for Dems to teach Republicans/Builder A a lesson.
OK - another prodigal here coming home. Only because of the court decision in NJ ...
A long time ago we use to be dems. We grew up and got smart and started paying attention to the issues not the hysterics. But even if there were a dem that was prolife, that is a big deal for me,their party is radical proabortion and always follow party line.
Make your statements in the primaries. And do not think "moderates are in control of the primary process". YOU are in control of the primary process.
Always, no exceptions, always vote for the rightwardmost, candidate who is viable. This is what to do in primaries, and this is what to do in the general election.
It's a simple rule that doesn't need nuance and doesn't need deep analysis. You will rarely go wrong following this rule. (the rare occasion is if the candidate is later discovered to be a criminal; but you can't know that then)
