A Silver Bullet for Angelides
CA Majority Report ^ | Oct. 24, 2006 | Steven Maviglio

Posted on 10/24/2006 9:18:18 PM PDT by FairOpinion

Angelides noted that Arnold won the endorsement of the California Rifle and Pistol Association, the state wing of the National Rifle Association, and quickly pounced on connecting the NRA with the Governor.

No wonder: Gun safety is overwhelmingly supported by California voters, particularly among Democrats. Angelides is seeking to exploit the Governor's NRA support, citing the Governor's veto of two bills advanced by gun safety advocates. They are:

AB 2714 by Rep. Alberto Torrico (D), which would have banned internet/mail order sales of ammunition unless the buyer presented an ID with proof of age to the seller. It also would have repealed the preemption law that restricts cities and counties from regulating ammunition sales.

SB 59 by Sen. Alan Lowenthal (D), which would have required anyone whose handgun was lost or stolen to report it to local law enforcement.

This is a Dem site, slightly worse than the MSM, but I thought it's worth noting that the California Rifle and Pistol Association, the state wing of the National Rifle Association ENDORSED ARNOLD>

Californians are such n00bs. Let's ban all human activity while we're at it. Cut down on deaths.

Angelides is a far out leftist.

Yet, believe it or not, there are people here, who claim to be conservatives, yet proclaim that they won't vote for Arnold, and so what if Marxist, socialist Angelides gets elected.

In my opinion every half way sensible conservative and Republican will get out and vote for Arnold and Republicans.

Steve Maviglio is employed as the Phil Angelides campaign's official spokesman, so it's not too surprising that he's desperately looking to find a "silver bullet" to salvage Phil's collapsing gubernatorial campaign.

Maviglio keeps spinning and spinning and spinning, trying to stave off a campaign death spiral. But it's way too late. In another two weeks I expect Phil Angelides to suffer a loss comparable to Dan Lungren's landslide defeat (only 38% of the vote) in 1998.

Then they shouldn't have any trouble voting for Aahnold. The NRA and it's state affiliates are heavily into real gun safety, for kids, for adults, for everyone.

Oh... they mean "gun bans" and "gun confiscation" not "gun safety". Slimy SOBs that they are. Never mind.

Only one small problem with the Maviglio version of the facts.

There is no evidence that the CRPA has endorsed Schwarzenegger. There is no announcement on either their web site or in their news letter of any endorsment.

Would the FairOpinion account care to provide a source for:

it's worth noting that the California Rifle and Pistol Association, the state wing of the National Rifle Association ENDORSED ARNOLD>

Thanks for illuminating the obvious.

I can't wait for a response to a suggestion of a quick verification before posting the words of a professional, Democrat shill and then boasting.

================================================================

Well, of course, as I recall, you've been pumping for Arnie ever since he entered politics. I wouldn't be surprised if you were using a CA state computer to draft your posts. You are a Schwarzenegger shill.

Yes, this absolute lunatic, this IDIOTIC GOP conservative (implicit in all your posts) has the audacity to tell Arnold and his wing of the Republican party to scr*w themselves, by voting for Angelides. That makes my vote count double over just staying home, which is what the GOP RINO's in Arnie's camp expect me to do.

I voted Gray Davis out of office. I carried petitions and gathered signatures. I voted Arnie into office as the best hope of beating Davis. And I've been rewarded by Arnold dumping on conservatives, hiring the leading lights of the deposed Governor Davis' staff, and by a governor's office whose staff will not take calls, mail, or email from a Republican.

Maybe a Republican can win back the state house in California one day, or perhaps it'll never again happen. However, it SURE AS HELL will never happen as long as Arnold is in office, and Gray Davis' Democrat staffers run the CA government under Arnold's rubber stamp.

This is a Republican vote which Schwarzenegger could have easily had. He will be the only GOP politician who failed to receive my vote. Last election my family was in the trenches in his behalf. This election my wife, son & daughter (their first election), and I all vote AGAINST Schwarzenegger by voting for his opponent - an EIGHT vote difference.

The GOP doesn't need Christian conservatives. We're the "problem" in the GOP, particularly in California, or so they've told us for the past 15-20 years. So, I finally believe the RINO's. The GOP will clearly do just fine without me this November.

This November, the "big tent" is closed, and I'm voting my conscience over the GOP party line. And, I WILL vote; I will not be disenfranchised by anyone. I will cast my vote where it will make a difference, and this November, it's to:

DEFEAT SCHWARZENEGGER's RINO's

... including "FairOpinion"

SFS

.

.

.

.

.

.

. Hmmm .. "Fair Opinion". Isn't "Fair" a liberal Democrat term? How is one opinion more "fair" than another's; don't we all have the right to our opinions? Maybe RINO's opinion's are more "fair" because they're so much more "moderate" than the rest of us. Just wondering....

NOBODY, who is voting for the leftist, Marxist, socialist Angelides who stands for everything a REAL conservative is for, has the right to call themselves a conservative. I guess you ARE A LEFTIST DEMOCRAT, since you say YOUR CONSCIONCE is making your vote for Angelides.

Sorry, Jim. I believe we agree on many things political, but this is personal in the case of Schwarzenegger. I believe his ethics are at the level of Clinton's. In my opinion, there is no one less trustworthy and more opportunistic in politics then Arnie.

And, that's sad for the California GOP. I don't want to see Schwarzenegger take his brand of GOP politics national, which he will do if reelected. It'll impact every GOP candidate in every election in American over the next 10 years if he win's big in November.
