This is a Dem site, slightly worse than the MSM, but I thought it's worth noting that the California Rifle and Pistol Association, the state wing of the National Rifle Association ENDORSED ARNOLD>

Californians are such n00bs. Let's ban all human activity while we're at it. Cut down on deaths.

Gee, who were they supposed to support; Angelides? Arnie's a staunch anti. Alas, who else are you going to vote for (cue tiny violin)?

Steve Maviglio is employed as the Phil Angelides campaign's official spokesman, so it's not too surprising that he's desperately looking to find a "silver bullet" to salvage Phil's collapsing gubernatorial campaign.

Maviglio keeps spinning and spinning and spinning, trying to stave off a campaign death spiral. But it's way too late. In another two weeks I expect Phil Angelides to suffer a loss comparable to Dan Lungren's landslide defeat (only 38% of the vote) in 1998.

Then they shouldn't have any trouble voting for Aahnold. The NRA and it's state affiliates are heavily into real gun safety, for kids, for adults, for everyone.

Oh... they mean "gun bans" and "gun confiscation" not "gun safety". Slimy SOBs that they are. Never mind.

Only one small problem with the Maviglio version of the facts.

There is no evidence that the CRPA has endorsed Schwarzenegger. There is no announcement on either their web site or in their news letter of any endorsment.

Would the FairOpinion account care to provide a source for:

it's worth noting that the California Rifle and Pistol Association, the state wing of the National Rifle Association ENDORSED ARNOLD>

Arnold is no fan of the RKBA. But nevertheless, Angelides is getting desperate by the day and is not gaining traction. He's sinking like a stone to the bottom.

Angeledies is a weenie,

Though he has a hispanic sounding name, even the Brown Pride party won't vote for him.

and don't even get me started about Diane Fienkenstein !

I just saw an ad on TV and she vowed to fight global warming and get us out of Iraq !

Who do these people think they are fooling ! .....

Oh almost forgot, we are talking about California voters

Oh please!

With the possible exception of Massachussetts, Gun Control is a LOSER. I can't believe the D's are still telling themselves this lie.

Even if the majority of people 'say' they favor gun control (most don't if you actually talk to them), you'll lose 2 votes for every 1 you gain, because people that are for gun control don't vote on it, while those who are against it DO vote on it.

which would have banned internet/mail order sales of ammunition unless the buyer presented an ID with proof of age to the seller

The Dems feel buying ammo requires a picture ID, but not voting.

And what organization promotes gun safety the most? The NRA, of course!

Gun safety is overwhelmingly supported by California voters, particularly among Democrats.

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed and hence, clamorous to be led to safety - by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." -- H. L. Mencken, In Politics

The Democrats are masters at convincing suburban female voters that guns are coming (all by themselves - you are supposed to pay no attention to the young urban black males wielding them) to their safe, isolated neighborhoods to kill their children...and the only way to stop these evil tools of the Right Wing is to vote Democrat, early and often.

Manipulating the natural sentiment "Ban or imprison everything that might potentially hurt my child!" is a very popular campaign tool used by both parties as a cloak for the ulterior motive of restricting liberty.
