PING
L'Chaim!
So if I drink heavily, I will live forever, ipso facto.
OK, maybe not. But I will suffer less. :-)
It didn't help my dad. A lifetime as an alcoholic and heart attck #4 nailed him.
It is interesting how a heart attack mimics a person with too much to drink. Puking, holding the chest, staggering, moaning. With both happening at the same time you don't really know if he is just drunk or dieing, that is until you find him dead.
Mmmmm...my daily drink of vodka/cranberry is now like medicine ay? Mix in a litte red wine now and then and my coronary arteries will stay flowing like the Missisippi.
Does this mean Ted (hic) Kennedy will be around for a long time? Oops, I missed the word "moderate"....never mind....
Now one thing is for sure. I will never, ever have a heart attack. I wonder if narcotics are good for anything.
Cool ! *BUMP*!
As I've heard it's specifically Red Wine that helps the heart.
1 glass once a week.
Something to do with the darker grapes. You can also get some of the same benefit just by drinking the purple grape juice though not as much since apparently the fermentation process enhances the benefit.
Anyhoo, my mother is the only 'moderate' drinker I've ever met. 1 grasshopper about once a month years ago when she worked at a restaurant. As far as I know now she hasn't had a drop in years.
I wonder if the number of drinks consumed is underreported. It would seem only human nature to answer the question in this fashion, since few want to be perceived as "drinkers."
