Eight states are voting on Nov. 7th on state constitutional amendments to ban same sex marriage. If the New Jersey court rules in favor of homosexual marriage, then the decision will revive this issue just in time for the elections. And if it improves turnout among conservative voters in various states, it could tip the balance in some other races. Tennessee is one of the states voting on marriage. The Corker-Ford Senate race is very close. So stay tuned.
They don't even have to answer to the government of New Jersey let alone the voters. You haven't seen tyranny till you've seen the NJ court system.
thanks for the insight
I'm starting to think I know what Rove's October Surprise is.
Dear Media, this just in...Evangelicals at 100% strength.
The state is so full of political a$$holes. THAT is why they like the idea of GAY marriage .
Too funny!
We need PRAYERS.Expected Supreme Court Opinions for
Wednesday, October 25, 2006 - Expected to be released at 3:00 p.m.
A-68-05 Mark Lewis, et al. v. Gwendolyn L. Harris et al.
(Mercer County & Statewide) Argued 2/15/06
Does the New Jersey Constitution require the State to allow same-sex couples to marry?
Thanks for the ping!
Well we do pray Coleus. It is nice to have a ping from you (((Hugs)))
This is a revolting development, of course. I have absolutely zero, zilch, nada confidence that the NJ Supremos will come down on the right side of this issue.
On the plus side, it should bring a lot of Republicans to the polls.
BTW..is Lautenberg still alive.he have been virtually invisible this last month..not supporting Menendez..
If NJ goes for homosexual based marriage then look for the Democrats to say to conservatives that the election is over and homosexual normalization is inevitable.
If NJ goes against homosexual based marriage then look for Democrats to say, see there is no activist judges so conservatives can safely stay home and protest not vote because judiciary is not relevant.
Either way Democrats will spin it as stay home.
(remember the Supreme Court folks, we have two USSC Justices who are praying Democrats take the senate on Nov 7 so they can retire)
Not sure.........
anyway, I know there will be a backlash here....this is not a popular issue.
hahaha...I always forget he's the other senator
"The New Jersey Supreme Court decided Wednesday that it is not their role to legalize same-sex marriage..."
It's what I said... They decided to help Menendez. As soon as the election is over, they will find some excuse to reverse themselves.
They could have waited three weeks to issue their opinion. The fact that they were going to rule before the election was a clue that they were going to rule against gay rights.
