Get this one.....

"the leading terrorist group in this country right now is the Republican Party." Keith Overbite.

One would think that he believes that people actually watch that festering turd he calls a television show.

MJF is NOT being duped, he is a WILLING accomplice in distortions.

Actor endorses Cardin's Senate Bid, slams Steele on stem cells

Associated Press; October 24, 2006 Tuesday 4:48 AM GMT

Michael J. Fox endorses Rep. Benjamin Cardin's U.S. Senate bid in a new ad in which the actor, visibly affected by his battle with Parkinson's disease, criticizes Republican candidate Michael Steele's stance on stem cell research.

The spot is the latest in a series of ads by the actor in support of senate candidates who support stem cell research, which many say hold the promise for providing treatments or cures for many diseases and conditions. Many social conservatives oppose embryonic stem cell research because human embryos are destroyed in the process of obtaining the stem cells.

Steele, Maryland's lieutenant governor, supports research on adult stem cells and umbilical cord blood, but not research that requires destroying an embryo to secure stem cells.

The effects of Parkinson's disease on Fox are grimly apparent in the commercial, which shows the actor seated in a dimly lit hotel room, speaking directly into the camera.

"Stem cell research offers hope to millions of Americans with diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's," Fox says, his voice clear, but his head and body unsteady. "But George Bush and Michael Steele would put limits on the most promising stem cell research."

Fox has also recorded spots for Missouri Democratic Senate candidate Claire McCaskill, who is running against Republican James M. Talent, and for Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat seeking re-election. The actor is also planning to appear at events for two Democrats, Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois congressional candidate.

"He wants to take on races and get involved in races that involve a pro stem cell candidate against an anti embryonic stem cell candidate," John Rogers, a publicist for Fox, told The Washington Post.

Fox, known for roles in the "Family Ties" and "Spin City" television series and the "Back to the Future" films, has long supported research that could lead to a treatment.

Fox agreed to film the Maryland spot after an associate met Myrna Cardin, the candidate's wife, at a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee event in Maryland last month, Cardin spokesman Oren Shur told The (Baltimore) Sun.

Look E, the Iraqis are no less effected by human nature then any one else. As long as the US was promising to bear the strain the easiest thing in the world for the Iraqi leadership to do was simply duck making any tough decisions.

Arabs are huge talkers they will talk and talk and talk and talk and do nothing. It is prudent for the Bush Administration to prod them to actually start doing some of the tough things now.

Domestically the American people are just as bad. They want easy quick answers. Saying "Stay the Course" actually was giving Democrats a easy to slime slogan that they spun as "Bush doesn't want to admit he was wrong on Iraq". NOW the Repubublicans can come back with "we are winning on Iraq, what is YOUR people's plan". It changes Iraq Deabate from being "Bush is an idiot who does even know what is going on in Iraq" to "We are on the verge of winning and the Democrats want to Cut and Run just before we win".

I agree putting the "timeline" statement in there was a mistake. It gives the wrong impression and drown out the fact that there is no firm dates under discussion here. We will stay or go as the situation on the ground, not the time table dictates. Generals and Politicans should know better then use the words a report throws at them. It always will be quoted as the Junk Media want to belive it, not as it was said.

I think one of the things the Junk Media is just glossing over here is the fact that Gen Casey pointed out we will SILL have a precense in Iraq after the Iraqis take over the security duities.

That is the best way to fight a Counter Insurgency. Conventional Military forces are not really very well suited to this kind of low grade constant warefare. They are trained to kill people and wrecks stuff. Counter Insurgency is as much political as military. It is slow time consuming painful work.

It is the El Salvador strategy. During the 1980s the US fought and won a Counter Insurgency in El Salvador by putting in Special Forces teams to support El Salvador military forces. We have always planned on having the Iraqis take over the bulk of the mission. This is merely one battle in the larger war. We were never planning on staying in Iraq forever.

And both Rummy and Gen Casey said the time frame can change as the situation can change. That is VASTLY different then the Democrats wanting to set a defined time line

BARF ALERT...

Michael J. Fox appeals for stem cell research in U.S. election ad: Limbaugh calls TV spot 'exploitative'

Ottowa Citizen News Services; October 24, 2006 Tuesday

WASHINGTON - Michael J. Fox, the Canadian-born Hollywood actor who has by Parkinson's disease, pleaded with American voters not to restrict research into stem cell technology.

Mr. Fox, 45, his body visibly racked by tremors, appeared in a TV ad for Missouri Democratic candidate Claire McCaskill. She is challenging incumbent Senator Jim Talent in a state that is also voting to amend its constitution to protect stem cell research within its borders.

The spot was the subject of widespread discussion yesterday, after conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh claimed Mr. Fox was "either off his medication or acting" during the ad.

"I think this is exploitative in a way that's unbecoming either Claire McCaskill or Michael J. Fox," Mr. Limbaugh said on his syndicated show.

Since retiring from acting after being diagnosed with the disease, Mr. Fox, who became an American citizen in 2000 and has been politically active for Democratic causes, has become an outspoken campaigner for stem cell research. "In Missouri, you can elect Claire McCaskill, who shares my hope for cures," Mr. Fox said. "Unfortunately, Senator Jim Talent opposes expanding research. Senator Talent even wanted to criminalize the science that gives us a chance for hope.

"What you do in Missouri matters to millions of Americans -- Americans like me."

Ms. McCaskill's spokeswoman Adrianne Marsh said Mr. Fox looked the same as he did for a McCaskill fundraiser in St. Louis last month that raised $200,000 U.S. for the campaign.

"It's unfortunate that anyone would attack someone who's trying to speak out for lifesaving cures," Ms. Marsh said.

The issue of stem cell research is deeply divisive in the U.S. In September, President George W. Bush used his legislative veto for the first time to stop a relaxation of federal funding rules on stem cell research.

Have you seen any anti Amendment 2 commercials using anyone in the medical community as a spokesperson?

I don't think I have.
