Buying Power: Billionaire Democratic Party sugar daddy George Soros is stiffing congressional candidates this year so he can fund more cerebral liberal causes. But this self-styled political philosopher is no towering intellect himself.
Soros might be best known for spending nearly $30 million in vain trying to oust President Bush from the White House in 2004, but what the cocksure hedge fund tycoon enjoys the most is lecturing America on its shortcomings.
Last week, he blamed North Korea's nuclear test on the president because George W. Bush had called Kim Jong Il's regime part of the Axis of Evil.
"We have to renounce, repudiate the war on terror," he said, but quickly added: "We have to defend ourselves against terrorists. We have to protect ourselves. But we mustn't make it the be-all and end-all of our policy."

He is a pot head and his goal to to legalize pot in every state. He won't leave us alone until he accomplishes his goal.

You may have hit the nail on the head -- he always, even during the communism had all kinds of philantropic project in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. Those could well have been covers for his dealings with the governments of those countries.
Your assumption would explain his behavior.
Because the US is the great bulwark against socialism taking over the planet, and must be brought to its knees. If that should happen, the Muzzies will have field day with his supporters, who love feminism, atheism, and sexual promiscuity.
