3rd-Annual Students' Day of Silent Solidarity, Tuesday, October 24, 2006

Posted on 10/23/2006 6:29:44 PM PDT by Coleus

Tomorrow is the Day of Silence - Tuesday, October 24

Tomorrow (Tuesday, October 24) is the 3rd annual Students Day of Silent Solidarity. For those of you participating, be aware that you will be joined by tens of thousands of pro-lifers across the country, and even around the world, for this amazing opportunity to stand up and be a voice.

I would like to share an e-mail that I got today which really explains why we do this event. This is from a woman who is praying for all of you as you take part in the Day of Silence:

"I graduated from high school in the tumultuous year of 1968. I had an abortion 2 years later and there hasn't been a day gone by since then that I don't think about it. I want to thank you and all the teens who are participating in this silent witness from the bottom of my heart. My prayers and fasting are 100% behind you. My hope is that, if you can save one mom and one baby from going through what me and my baby have been through, it'll be worth it!"

We know of two babies that were saved last year because of the Day of Silence, and I know many hearts were touched and minds were changed.

As you get ready to take part, it is important for you to remember to act in love. It is also important not to be angry, but to be in a constant attitude of prayer throughout the day. Don't let the teasing and mocking get to you, lift it all up to Christ.

Legal Help

Some of the schools are still trying to tell students they cannot take a stand on October 24th.  The lawyers at the Alliance Defense Fund have put together a letter for you which explains your rights.  We have put these up as PDF forms on the website for you to download. www.standtrue.com/pages/studentlegal.pdf   Make sure and contact the ADF if your school continues to deny your rights. The ADF works for free for you.

Pictures and Stories

We need your pictures and stories from the Day of Silence.  We want you to take as many pictures as possible of you and your friends participating in the Day of Silence along with stories about the day.  You can see the pictures and stories from last year on the website - Stories and Pictures    If possible please take the pictures in high resolution so we can use them for many different projects.  E-mail your stories and pictures to silentdayafter@standtrue.com

More than students to take part in Day of Silence

So many people have been asking why this day is just for students.  When we first planned the day it was done so to give students a way to be a voice in concert with each other across the nation.  We are considering a name change to include everyone in the event next year, but for now we are registering individuals who want to participate and we even have a business signed up now.

If you are an individual, business owner or anyone else who wants to participate, feel free to register.

Register - Silent@standtrue.com  Include your name, state, business name ect...

Hi, Coleus. I hate to deadpost, but I came across this article and I wondered if you knew why October 24 is the day chosen each year. Is that an anniversary of something?

Hi.. I don’t really know and will try to find out, thanks for the link. It seems as though the other side can say and do anything in the schools and when a pro life group wants the same 1st amendment rights, the schools stop them and prevents their free speech.
