While his famous conservative elders squabble on the front page of the New York Times, Chris Lilik just keeps his eye on the ball.
Attention should be paid.
Perhaps significantly in understanding the evolving state of generational politics with young conservatives, while Lilik loved Ronald Reagan he was only a year old when Reagan entered the White House. His conservative heroes, both at the national and state level, are very much alive and talking as a part of contemporary America.

Anyway, PA is the Key Keystone State for Republicans retaining control of the Senate. If Santorum is re-elected (and this would probably mean GOP retention of the Senate) then the person to definitely THANK is FREEPER Chrik Lilik.
Just don't think it is going to happen. Dislike of Santorum is very, very strong. He is a bit too Southern Conservative for PA (yes I have lived there for about 18 years). Too many hang-ups about sex that doesn't appeal to the Eastern part of the state ).
If Casey weren't such a Schmcuk, Santorum would be behing by a heck of a lot more. Rendell's machine is just too big and too strong.
The place where I lived is 50% Dem and 50% GOP and pretty representative of the middle-of-the-road mentality of the state. Only the friends who are politically aware(and naturally conservative) still plan to vote for Santorum. Those who are pubbies by registration but otherwise apolitical are either staying home or voting against him with their noses held.
I know it is just a snapshot, but this is what I am hearing about our friend Rick in PA.
If the GOP/Santorum wins in PA, you are looking at overall gains in the House in Senate in my book. As much as I like to be optimistic, I am not willing to cross over into blind wishful thinking. The are more promising fights to be fought.
One problem with that scenario is that there is some bad blood between Rendell and Casey. Not sure why but it exists.

So the GOP should just assume the fetal position and accept the fate that YOU expect? I remember reading that John F. Kennedy didn't even bother to show up to vote in the Senate in the late 50s for a Civil Rights Bill (which really did nothing) that Lyndon Johnson was promoting because he and everybody else "knew" it was going to be defeated anyway. Guess what? It passed. Maybe you should take your cue from Chris Lilik and actually DO something. Remember, this was the guy who was the key to defeating two "moderate" Republicans when they had "solid" seats.
I did something. I voted. Otherwise I am 3000+ miles away, so it is tough.
I didn't say no one should vote. I am just relating my experience. Santorum is just more conservative than PA really is. Unfortunately Specter represents the states general disposition quite well, which is why he has been around so long. Not saying I agree with it. Remember the state voted for Gore and Kerry.
Hats off to Chris. The radio ads are just what we need right now.
Casey Jr. is a flaming liberal whose hiding his true colors to squeeze throught the election, then be a tool of Hillary and Schumer to block good court nominees.
So if Santorum wins, will you be THANKING Chris Lilik?
Chris is a FReeper. I know his FR screen name but don't want to reveal it for privacy reasons.
ping
I don't know Chris personally, but I would certainly be willing to express my sincere appreciation for his efforts regardless of whether Santorum wins or loses.
Dislike by the moonbat left, you bet. But the moonbat left is not PA.
Santorum wins by 2-3% and will be a big surprise to the DC punditry and to those on FR who think that the DC punditry's word, is the word of God.
Would you be willing to put money on that prediction?
I know some life-long Republicans for whom Santorum is too conservative. Either you don't live in PA or you don't get out much.
Nice try at voter suppression but no cigar. Santorum wins despite some so-called life long "Republicans".
You're reminding me of some FReepers on Election Day 2004 who proclaimed it was all over for us because the Exit polls showed Kerry winning in a landslide. You can actually go back in the archives to see YOURS TRULY telling them to basically STFU because those polls seemed obviously wrong. However, they still stuck to their "WOE IS US" script right up until the time Susan Estrich began crying into her "victory" champagne.
But you are not willing to put money on it?
By the way, who made you the one who determines who is or isn't a Republican?
He's certainly campaigning on his dad's "Pro-life Dem" coattails. The problem is, there are a lot of dumb bunnies in PA who do not realize that Bob Casey ain't his dad.
I can say you know NOTHING about pa political doings.
Rick wins by a slim.
You don't even know that Eddie and Bobbie are at war. Bobbie is running ads that kick Eddie in the crotch.
Wait an see. The Toomey conservatives are not as dumb as the demoKaRatz think. And Eddies union thug buddies in Philly may get collective amnesia when it comes to the senate race.
You know none of this. STFU
We seem to have a permanent contingency with this mentality lurking in the shadows...just waiting for any opportunity to pop out and drive down morale. I'm getting real sick of them, myself.
CLUCK! CLUCK! IT'S ALL OVER BEFORE IT'S OVER!!! CLUCK! CLUCK! THE SKY IS FALLING BEFORE IT IS FALLING!!! CLUCK! CLUCK!
Not only is Rick going to win, he's garnering Dem crossover votes. The only "accomplishment" Casey can stuff into his empty suit is the fact that he and Fast Eddie were the payjacking sugardaddies. Well after the fact he claimed he thought it was unconstitutional, yet he had no problem signing those paychecks. Plenty of Democrats are calling in to the midstate talk shows complaining about Casey and how worthlessly entitled he comes off. Not to mention how utterly clueless he proved himself in the debates. They're holding their noses to vote for Santorum!
The rest of us conservatives have no problem voting for Santorum. In fact, we're jazzed about it. I've never once heard anyone say he's too conservative! In fact I've heard far more comments that he's not conservative enough.
