Is War With Israel The Next Step For Iran?
Global Politician ^ | August 22, 2006 | Ghazal Omid

The Iranian government will fight with utmost brutality. The result will be the destruction of the beautiful Persian culture. Iran is not only harboring the terrorist group Hezbollah; it has adopted their method of fighting. Mahmood Ahmadinejad, in his interview with Mike Wallace, said that the number of registered suicide bombers has increased from 2000 in January 2006 to the current number of 54,000... While Iran was at war with Iraq, Khomani kept referring to the eight year war as a blessing. Iran’s only “blessing” from that war was over 1,000,000 casualties, including half a million dead, The regime, of course, survived many uprisings, killing over 2500 of its opposition per month and no one from the international community even blinked... Anticipating hard times, key figures have already pulled their assets from national banks; at the same time, trying to find allies among the very fragile circle of friends in the Arab community. Iran will stage a war on Israel and the US on all fronts in the coming months. US troops in the Persian Gulf can be hit by their fast boats; at least that is what Iran banking on. Iran will not put all their eggs in one basket. They will hit Israel at the same time as they step up the militia aggravation of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan; as well as hitting US troops via supporters in Arabic countries. And, Iran will interrupt oil flow.

Iran, Muslims and Islam mean nothing to me. Nothing but a waste of humanity.

With all respect to you pal, Siv, Iran won't dare to attack Israel in the near term. They will continue to use their proxies in the area like Syria and Hezbollah. It's really worked for them to date with no downside or significant costs.

"Is War With Israel The Next Step For Iran?"

Why yes, Ghazal Omid, our "Road Map" to Britain's heart already invited Iran to attack Israel through Gaza and Hezbollah. And as Iran's attacks intensify, politics right here in the USA will get very bland, indeed (you know, with only one party left and all).

SunkenCiv,

Ahmadinejad, a man of many talents, jumped from (interview question) # 17 to # 1 on June 24, 2005 and may be the Tiger Woods of politicians. He certainly showed a talent for handling a reporter and dodging important questions.

Iraq's Ahmadinejad biggest problem is that he might actually start to believe the MSM's "adoration", especially the above remark that he's a Tiger Woods of politicians.

Very bad mistake.

I'd guess that the United States has war-gamed an Iran war a hundred times since we defeated Iraq's military. We're ready ...

Morever, Bush knows that an Iraq Victory is impossible with Iranian support of the bad guys ...

The image I'm getting is that "soon" Bush-&-Rumsfeld will turn to their DoD admirals and generals ... and tell them to "Unleash Hell" on the Iranian military ... just like Maximus (Russell Crowe) did in Gladiator.

Tehran will be nothing but glass soon.

People have been saying this for years about Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Iran. Where's the glass that so many have, and are now predicting?

The US hasn't withdrawn troops, merely moved them around the country, particularly as the new Iraqi troops and police have been deployed. There is one possible reason for this. I think the liberation of Iran will be much more intense, that is, there will be actual and coherent formations of enemy troops, and for a longer time. And of course, it will bring about wider and open civil war in Pakistan, fomented by groups supported and recruited by Iran. Also, I'd be surprised to see Kurdistan remain as quiet as it is now.

Iran attack Israel??

Expect significant attacks on Iran's oil facilities and if their demented president continues or escalates next might be C&C targets (further up to nuke attacks on all their military bases). One chemical attack or nuke on an Israeli population center ... then expect Iran to cease to exist.

I seriously doubt there will be any iran in 3-5 years. Not that I would miss it, of course.

About the author Ghazal Omid (snip)

"...on a trip to Abadan to renew her birth certificate, another incident emphasized the urgency for her to leave the country. Riding with her mother in a taxi, Ghazal asked the tour guide/taxi driver to slow down so she could photograph the abandoned oil refinery where her grandfather had been chief of security. Instead, the driver, an under cover policewoman, pulled out her ID and threatened to arrest her as a spy if she tried to photograph the rusting junkyard of pipes; all that remained of a majestic refinery that fifty years ago was the largest in the world...."

Very, very interesting.

I would be totally stunned if that occurred; not that I would oppose the strike. Bush won't do it.

Iran has way too much invested to step back. There is a Muslim-vs-Muslim conflict going on right now, between the Arabic version of Islam (Sunni, al-Qaeda, Wahhabism) and the Iranian version (Shi'a, Hezbollah). Lebanon is the Hezbollah insertion point, while the Wahhabists are trying to work through Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Normally, I would just say, let the Muslims do battle with each other. This was the situation with Iran and Iraq, from the early 1980's until the occupation of Kuwait by Iraq in 1991. Then, it became a threat to world trade and a serious interruption of energy supplies from the region.

We were blind on the ground throughout most of that period, and it was only through reports from refugees from the region that it becam apparent that what was going on was much more than a border war, it was a bilateral attempt at genocide to be visited upon the rivals by each other. Mutual Assured Destruction. Kuwait was captured only as a strategic maneuver, but that brought the wrath of the world down upon Saddam, as his agenda became more and more obvious, annihilation of all competition.
