SunkenCiv,

Ahmadinejad, a man of many talents, jumped from (interview question) # 17 to # 1 on June 24, 2005 and may be the Tiger Woods of politicians. He certainly showed a talent for handling a reporter and dodging important questions.

Iraq's Ahmadinejad biggest problem is that he might actually start to believe the MSM's "adoration", especially the above remark that he's a Tiger Woods of politicians.

Very bad mistake.

I'd guess that the United States has war-gamed an Iran war a hundred times since we defeated Iraq's military. We're ready ...

Morever, Bush knows that an Iraq Victory is impossible with Iranian support of the bad guys ...

The image I'm getting is that "soon" Bush-&-Rumsfeld will turn to their DoD admirals and generals ... and tell them to "Unleash Hell" on the Iranian military ... just like Maximus (Russell Crowe) did in Gladiator.

Patton-at-Bastogne

The US hasn't withdrawn troops, merely moved them around the country, particularly as the new Iraqi troops and police have been deployed. There is one possible reason for this. I think the liberation of Iran will be much more intense, that is, there will be actual and coherent formations of enemy troops, and for a longer time. And of course, it will bring about wider and open civil war in Pakistan, fomented by groups supported and recruited by Iran. Also, I'd be surprised to see Kurdistan remain as quiet as it is now.

I would be totally stunned if that occurred; not that I would oppose the strike. Bush won't do it.
