WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) _ Muslims at the U.S. Military Academy numbered just two in 2001. This year, there are 32.
Now West Point has opened its first space dedicated to Muslims, a worship hall complete with a pulpit facing Mecca. The space officially opened Thursday.
"I knew the Army had a policy of religious tolerance, but I didn't know it was to this extent," said first-year Cadet Ahmed Moomin, 20, from the Maldives.
Until now, Friday prayers were held in an increasingly crowded first-floor office, said Imam Asadullah, the academy's Muslim cleric. The number of Muslim cadets jumped by 10 from last year.
The new hall is large enough for dozens of followers, he said.
West Point's Muslim leaders approached administrators last year for help.
"We live in a world where everyone is looking at the United States saying, 'You're anti-Islam.' But here at West Point, that's not what we do," West Point Chaplain Col. John Cook said.

When I was at VMI in the late 70s, we had about 40 students from Iran (before the Shah was overthrown). These students were Muslims. The school did nothing special for them, and they didn't complain.
So all billion+ of them are in on it? They really are organized.
Wow, eventually they may figure out that to really be effective they could be non-observant and disguise themselves as Christians or something.

Most of them (if they have any sanity at all)are of course not "in on it" unless they get the call. So what would you say to AQ if they made a "papal" visit to your home with a "special" request?
The hell of it is, they don't have to be organized, they just have have a few who are politically savvy and know who to call and in what geographical area when needed.
I'd like to know which congressmen are appointing muzzies to our military acadamies. There must be a way to find out.
Like any other group of violent morons (and there are many of them)-- we have to hunt out the bad guys.
I never said there weren't violent morons, but I refuse to paint a billion+ people as violent morons.
The underlying problem is that we allow immigration from Muslim countries. It must be ended NOW.

It only takes a few violent morons to terrorize. The majority of victims of political Islam have been Muslims.

Just because the Muslim guys in our military have probably got good intentions from the start doesn't mean they won't "get the call". Why are we putting our military at risk for this and more importantly the Muslim himself?

This is an old, old question for America -- the question of loyalty. Jews and Catholics have both faced it in the past. So, now I suppose it's the Muslims' turn.
It's not the same at all. Muslims can not recognize any other rule but Islamic rule. They can recognize a democracy like in Iraq that is based on Islamic principles but they are forbidden to take part in any other type of government unless they are in the process of conquering it.
We had the Rosenbergs and that idiot now in jail for spying for Israel (can't remember his name) with the Jews. We had the draft riots last century with the Irish/Catholics.
The deal is very simple: this is America -- pray however you like, raise a family, start a business, complain about whoever happens to be in political office, hey, knock yourself out. However, betray the trust of the nation and you'll become a guest at one of our fine penal institutions.
Personally, I think this is a pretty good deal.
That's what France thought as well...now look, the "youths" are trying to kill their police officers on a daily basis. I know the news in France is censored. I know someone in France personally.
The news that hasn't gotten out is that it's not just 112 cars a month that get burned but there have been churches as well.
The moderates migrated probably hoping to escape the violence and insanity only to find that their grandchildren who are in much greater number now in the host country are being "called" to serve Allah and the Caliphate by the powerful in the higher ranks.(Yes there is evidence of organization in these riots)
Islam has been expanding this way for centuries and it has worked well for them. Our laws mean nothing to them.

Then our jails might make an impression. Again, the deal is: obey the laws or become a guest of the state.
Do you really believe that France will hold it together as the Muslim population expands? Really? Look at them already with only a 10% Muslim population. It's getting out of control of the authorities.

My feeling is, America isn't France. We absorb people and cultures. I'll admit that I haven't read extensively on the situation in France, but my impression is that the Arab community is very marginalized.
I'm reminded of the Tom Clancy movie (can't remember the title) where Brad Pitt plays an Irish terrorist. He's in a bar with Harrison Ford who is screwing around with his friends shooting ethnic slurs back and forth. Pitt tenses up thinking there's going to be a bloodbath.
I remain, always and despite everything, very optimistic about this country.
