"The Democrats' lack of a governing agenda allows the Republicans an opening they can yet exploit. It's never a plus in politics if you can tell voters what you're against but not what you're for.

Beyond the Democrats' missing agenda, Bush strategist Karl Rove and Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman have one last ace to play. In the final 72 hours before this election, they will implement the most sophisticated and best-financed plan ever devised for mobilizing the GOP base and getting its voters to the polls. Democrats have nothing like it."

The Democrats don't know they are for. They will probably make sizeable gains but you can never bet the house against a GOP comeback at the last moment.

Saying it doesn't make it so.

Yawn more cheerleading for the democrats.

JMO, the drive by media is in for a surprise the morning of November 8th.

They will be proven fallible and will lose even more influence.

Welfare reform, spending restraint, and a balanced-budget compact followed by successive years of budget surpluses were all products of the Gingrich revolution in Congress.

Certainly the polls suggest a dismal night Nov. 7 for the Republicans.

The media have certainly have firmly set that meme. Of course, if the media's polling reports had been accurate in 2004, we would have President Kerry in office.

Their "polling" seems to be less about presenting some sort of reasonable guess about future events and more about trying to drive those events. Certainly with the lack of accuracy that these "polls" have shown, it seems ridiculous to actually use them as a news source --- paying a haruspex to create an "entrails" report would be about as credible based on polling's equally embarrassing track record.

Well after they sweep the House, the grarage needs it, and so does the wood workshop floor, the front drive could use a good sweep too, .... oh! That's not the sweep you were talking about.

Still for most of the Dems doing that sort of sweep would shock their spouses. I'm sorry "Significant Other" < /--- pcism < phleeepppppp!

I simply dont believe and dont agree with the notion that only the GOP can do GOTV. Actually here in our county, the Dems are pretty welloiled on GOTV. It depends on the area.

GOVT btw doesnt happen out of thin air. It take *volunteer effort* to help make it happen* ... So if you want to help defend the GOP Congress, here is what you can do:
1. Write letter to editor.
2. Call GOP HQ and ask if you can do some calling
- calling just 50 people (takes one hour) can help remind enough people to increase voting by 5-10%. That is, of the 50 people, maybe 35 would vote anyway, 10 wont vote anyway, but there will be 5 of them who wouldnt have voted who now have a reminder that pushes them over the edge to vote...

3. Get your friends, neighbors, colleagues etc. to vote Republican.
Get the message in front of them about how screwed up the Democrats are.

That may happen. Certainly the polls suggest a dismal night Nov. 7 for the Republicans.

The only scheduled time the media takes a breather from the likes of "global warming" stories is preelection time.

And it's STILL doom and gloom mongering....

"A Democratic Sweep -- and then what?"

1) the one word that will define the democratic house
is Subpoena - the lib/dems will make sure every thing
tied to republicans and Bush will have one
This will tie up most of the agenda in preparation for #2

2) impeachment proceedings -
the "Eminently" qualified john conners (aa) mi - will
head the impeachment committees to bring Bush up on
charges real or contrived

3) taxes - votes for tax cut repeals will be proposed
this action will decrease &/or end business growth
and increase of revenues to the US treasury

4) increase of mininmum wage - how better to to slow down
business growth and the economy than to mandate higher
wages

5) proposed increase to funding for medicare prescription
drugs - the amount now spent by the US taxpayers isn't
sufficient and besides the lib/dems cannot stand that
republicans got this funding passed when in 40 years
they could not!!!!

6) iraq - a time table will be established to cut & run
No... the lib/dems cannot make the decision...that is
still the purview of the President...But...the lib/dems
will vote to cut off funding...because they are against
the war but support the troops!!!

7) military funding - the lib/dems will mirror clinton's
defunding & dismantling of the military

8) illegal aliens - the lib/dems will try to impose the
senate plan....give all illegals amnesty/social security
/tax forgiveness/free medical/free education....and how
will they fund all of this???....see #3 & 7!!!

Yes, most of the plan is about the economy...stupid....but the stupid US Taxpayers will allow their pockets to be picked once again to fund all of this crap!!!!

In the end, the US will be weaker, the economy in decline..the illegals having more rights than citizens....but after all this happens...the lib/dems will still have the golden reason for everything...the mantra they have chnated the past 6 years.....

It is all Bush's fault!!!!!

The Democrats' strategy, to the extent they have one, is to make the 2006 midterms a referendum on an unpopular president and an unpopular war. That may be enough to get them elected, but then what?

That's a difficult one to answer because the Democrats have no real plan for running America and that makes them scary. The agenda of several of them is to give us a good taste of Socialism, and others are so filled with hate toward President Bush that they can't get beyond that hatred. Who knows what they will do. Whatever it would be, I don't want any part of it.

We need more Roberts and Alitos on the supreme court.

For that reason alone, a republican majority is crucial.

If you look at the trends of the last few elections, Republicans have been beating dems pretty handily. Since that time, it's doubtful that the dems have built a movement any bigger than what previously exists because they are offering nothing different. It's 2004 all over again.

Have you looked at the lineup the dems will be lead by...Pelosi, Conyers, Rangel, Frank, nostrilitus, and the rest are just as bad. If you cannotl vote republican, vote against this leacherous bunch of America-hating democrats. These people are the antithesis of what America stands for.

""A Democratic Sweep -- and then what?"

1) Absolute refusal to confirm even one more judge who does not go along with the Far Left's liberal views.

2) Absolute commitment to more liberal abortion laws.

These two certainties (if the Democrats should sweep) should be enough to prod even the most recalcitrant conservative voter to the polls!

I wish I could strangle media morons who use the word "democratic" when referring to Democrats.

It's not the democratic party, it's the DEMOCRAT party.

Democratic is a process. Democrat is a lying moron.

Know the difference.

Then what? Mass amnesty for illegal aliens, that's what. The only thing stopping this disaster is the GOP House. We lose it, and Ted Kennedy will have his way on immigration policy.
