I really believe Salazar's "moderate" positions have been exposed. This is typical of Democrats. The challenge for Republicans is to expose this behavior and voting record.

Democrats run on one persona but revert to their liberal roots once they are elected.

I am not as knowledgeable as you in this SW CO area. I can only report that Durango, and La Platta County by extension due to Bayfield, is changing the landscape. The "right leaning" group Salazar talks about is really nothing more than support groups to help him win.

Another thing we've noticed. Local programming revolves around the awake and watching time liberals would be watching TV.  No offense to those who can sleep in but one has to wonder how this works for normal working people?

I have seen too many of the Senators that I have backed...being too wishy washy..and NOT standing up for what is right...if it would cost them the election...sigh

Wasn't (Bucephalus) Hank Williams Junior's horse? :-)

I actually tried to track that question down.  From what I can tell here's the best explanation:

Bo Ceiphus, as a nickname, originates as a nickname for Hank Williams Jr. His father affectionately called him Bocephus, a dubya-esque mispronunciation of Alexander the Great's war horse, Bucephalus. Thus, one could argue that I am named after a badass war horse.

So, bottom line, It's Bush's fault.

Good list Johnnie. We should add do everything they can to impeach President Bush AND VP Cheney. They've already talked about that. Which should be a verrrry frightening thought for anyone not considering voting for a Republican and withholding their vote to teach them a lesson. IF they succeed on that (and I don't think they would) there would be President Pelosi or Murtha (though I'm really hoping and praying that Diana Irey will replace him)

I lived for a short time in Bayfield in 1978, and was surprised to find that my children's school friends were from LA, Houston, etc....I naively thought that the "rural" area would be a safer environment...boy, was I wrong.

One thing that really struck me was the attitude towards newcomers in that area and the label "Native" stuck on the license plates...I was shunned until I made it known I was born in CO.

I believe the Church came out with a letter some time ago, written by then Cardinal Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict 16, that said not to support politicians who favored abortion. So Kerry's priest is in violation of the Pope!

I'd bet on the Pope on this one.

It had grown a lot, had a great four lane road through town and in general looked more like a new modern town than a few years prior when we were through there and it still had that small, Colorado Town, look to it.

My husband is from Pagosa and I have a sister in Amarillo, so when we go to Texas we usually come back that direction over Wolf Creek and down to Pagosa.

Puts is mildly! I'm stunned he got his own show. I can't watch, just caught a short stench and that was enough for me. I understand he does his usual ask for email thing and reads the worst of the worst from the DU-types.

I heard something earlier on FNC that the IRS has been investigating churches for their non-profit status and preaching things about politics (IIRC they specifically mentioned a church in CA). Wonder if some of the churches will be a bit more reluctant to preach politics from the pulpit this year. Of course, Bubba, Gore, sKerry and the Breck Girl did it and no one said anything. A Pubbie did it once and they were all over them (don't remember the specifics - just remember their hypocrisy at the time).
