Maybe some of the Democrats are visiting Iraq for a fact finding mission so they can trash the Military and George Bush more and the Military is trying to make them wet their panties by making the Area come alive with munitions. Nah, they are too professional.

No, it's I who should apologize if my post gave you the impression I was offended. It wasn't meant that way at all. Perhaps it was because I was writing something I'm very uncomfortable expressing. It terrifies me how much our society signals to the enemy where our weaknesses are.

The passengers on flight 93 are real heroes to me, too. No one I knew would go to the movie with me, so I went alone. Their story deserves to be seen and not forgotten.

New Rite of Exorcism
I have received a copy of a proposal for a new rite of exorcism currently being considered by the by the Congregation for Divine Worship. This is not a revision to the Rite of Exorcism issued in 1999, but a brand new document for an especially pernicious spirit. The new document is called The Rite of Exorcism for the Spirit of Vatican II. The Spirit of Vatican II Exorcists will be designated as one of the minor orders and these priests will be drawn from those who have already been designated to the Exorcistate and are experienced in expelling demons. The reason behind this I assume that expelling demons is a breeze compared to expelling the spirit of Vatican II from subjects. I will posts parts of this new document with some commentary.

The Bestowal of the Office. The candidates now come up to the bishop, and each touches the book and the actual documents of Vatican II which he presents to them, saying:

Receive, and commit to memory the documents of Vatican II, and have the power to lay your hands upon those possessed by a modern spirit and another gospel, be they baptized or catechumens.

Prayer. The bishop rises and prays for the candidates kneeling before him:

Let us, dearly beloved brethren, humbly beseech God, the Father Almighty, that He may graciously bless these His servants for the office of Spirit of Vatican II exorcist. May they be spiritual commanders, to cast out of the false ideas and heresies that have lead them and others astray. Through His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with Him in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. R. Amen.

The rite speaks of exorcists as spiritual physicians endowed with the power of healing. This may also refer to bodily afflictions caused by the devil; once the influence of the devil is broken by the exorcism, the affliction ceases.

One of the discussions in the new document, which is definitely in the draft phase, is what to do when the bishop themselves are possessed with the spirit of Vatican II? Some of the drafters have considered an Episcopal intervention done by other bishops or perhaps a single bishop designated for these cases. Some of the drafters expressed concerns about collegiality, but other put forth the example of St. Paul. Whatever the solutions posed it must be better than waiting for a bishop to turn 75.

As with a normal exorcism an investigation is required first. The investigation is required to determine if a person is actually possessed by the sprit of the age instead of mental illness or an attachment to a liberal political party. Mental illness might be a charitable prognoses, but the investigator should take care to find the actual root of a possible possessed persons outbursts.

There are specific signs to look for in discerning Spirit of Vatican II possession. This is not an exhaustive list and a possessed person may or may not hold one or more of the following:

Advocacy for women priests. If they spell women as womyn proceed to the exorcism immediately.
If the subject has vocal outbursts in a foreign language they do not speak. The exception is if they speak Latin. Latin is a sure sign that they are not possessed by this specific spirit.
Denial of the supernatural. If they refer to the miracle of the bread and fish being multiplied as the miracle of sharing do not delay in starting the rite.
Advocacy of homosexual acts or same-sex marriage. Outright advocacy is an easy case for this rite. Though normally the exorcist will have to discern for themselves when the subject crouches their underlying belief by concentrating on respect for the homosexual person or their anger at the document on not admitting those with deep-seated homosexual tendencies to the seminary. Asking them straight-forward whether they believe that homosexual acts are intrinsically immoral can cut through the obfuscation.
Advocacy of abortion and/or contraception. Appealing to the "seamless garment" is not a certain test for possession, though it is a indicator to dive deeper.
If they believe that the document Environment and Art in Catholic Worship which was never approved by the Bishops conference must be held de fidei, but Humanae Vitae and Ordinatio Sacerdotalis can be safely ignored.
If when making the sign of the cross they repeat Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier.
Has subscriptions to the National Catholic Reporter, Commonweal, America, and St. Anthony's Messenger.
Can not say obedience, male hierarchy, Pope Benedict XVI without grimacing
Rite of Exorcism of the Spirit of Vatican II

The priest delegated by the Ordinary to perform this office should first go to confession or at least elicit an act of contrition, and, if convenient, offer the holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and implore God's help in other fervent prayers. He vests in surplice and purple stole. Having before him the person possessed (who should be bound if there is any danger), he traces the sign of the cross over him, over himself, and the bystanders, and then sprinkles all of them with holy water. After this he kneels and says the Litany of the Saints, exclusive of the prayers which follow it. All present are to make the responses. Do not be surprised if during the Litany of the Saints if the subject becomes uncomfortable with so many pre-Vatican II names. The person might try ot interject other names like for example Gandhi.

It might also be necessary to gag the possessed person. The possessed will often appeal to dialoguing and will attempt to do it for countless hours and then days on end. This faux dialoguing in not an attempt to get to the truth, but to wear you down in sophist arguments. Appealing to Holy Scripture, Apostolic Tradition, and reason are fruitful avenues in most situation, but only the most patient exorcist should try to employ them in this situation since the possesed are normally immune to them.

The next step in the exorcism has been known to produce especially strong reactions from the possessed person. Even if the person is bound it is suggested that a minimum of two people be on hand to hold them down and to assist you. The exorcist after appealing to the Holy Spirit begins to read the actual texts of the documents of Vatican II. As mentioned above be prepared for a violent reaction especially while reading Sacrosanctum Concilium. If the possessed person is not gagged be prepared for obscene outbursts like "Your mother is a homophobe." Rainbow colored projectile vomiting has also been known to occur. While the text is read the bystanders chant "The power of the text compels you." Make sure that a medical team is on hand in case the possessed person goes into shock during the reading. They will no be spinning of their head or displaying supernatural phenomenon, but the logic they will use in defending the spirit of Vatican II might make your own head spin.

The following invocation is then chanted:

From all evil, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From the spirit which denies the text, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From modernist interpretations, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From inclusive language, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From the pride of independence, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From liturgical abuses, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From disobedience to the magisterium, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From an unformed conscience, Deliver us, 0 Lord.
From the spirit of the age, Deliver us, 0 Lord.

The exorcist than commands the spirit of Vatican II to come out

Therefore, I adjure you every modern spirit, every specter from academia, every dissident power, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was led into the desert after His baptism by John to vanquish you in your citadel, to cease your assaults against the creature whom He has, formed from the slime of the earth for His own honor and glory that you leave this soul. I command you moreover that you leave immediately so that this person can not only come to enjoy the actual documents of Vatican II, but that he (she) may appreciate and accept in obedience all of the Church's councils and magisterial teachings of Holy Mother Church. That he (she) may see the Second Vatican Council as an organic growth and not a starting point of a new church.

Depart, then, impious one, depart, accursed one, depart with all your deceits, for God has willed that man should be His temple. Why do you still linger here? Give honor to God the Father almighty, before whom every knee must bow. Give place to the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His most precious blood for man. Give place to the Holy Spirit, who by His blessed apostle Peter openly struck you down in the person of Simon Magus; who cursed your lies in Annas and Saphira; who smote you in King Herod because he had not given honor to God. Depart you mischievous spirit that denies sin and calls right wrong and wrong right. I order you depart deceitful spirit to leave and to never return.

All the above may be repeated as long as necessary, until the one possessed has been fully freed.

It will also help to say devoutly and often over the afflicted person the Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Creed, as well as any of the prayers given below.

The Canticle of our Lady, with the doxology; the Canticle of Zachary, with the doxology.

The exorcist then looks for signs that the evil spirit of modernity has truly departed. Have the subject read from the Catechism of the Catholic Church and VII documents and observe their demeanor. If they look comfortable doing this let the person read some scriptural texts. If they can do this without injecting inclusive language for references to God, then this is a further sign of healing. As a final test have the person as a test of obedience recite the Affirmation of Personal Faith. If they can read this without breaking a sweat, screaming in terror, or any sign of discomfort then this is a very good sign indeed. "The devil can imitate humility but he cannot imitate obedience." St. Faustina

The new rite looks pretty interesting and I certainly hope they approve it soon and make it broadly available. Of course there will be a problem getting the large number of these exorcists considering the extremely large demand. I also heard that they are considering a similar rite for schismatic traditionalists, though they might combine the two since they are just two sides of the same coin of disobedience and misunderstanding of Vatican II.

I am a catholic, and our priest had the following to say to us today:

"It is the duty of good Catholics, indeed, Christians everywhere, to obey the commandments of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, and follow His way. God does not condone abortion. The Church says we should not vote for politicians who support abortion. It's that simple. Please, vote your heart, for the person or party you believe in, but remember, ALWAYS, the unborn, and show dignity for human life. That is after all, what God expects of us."

I don't think he could have made it simpler, unless he said, "Don't vote for the abortion supporters Kerry, Kennedy and Pelosi. Don't vote democrat, as they are the party of abortion and embryonic stem cell research."

If he did, he would have gotten in trouble (of course the Revvvveeereends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton face no such fears). Still, I sure hope the rest of the parish figures out what he meant!

I think some of the Vets here who have witnessed this disgusting display will call his office and complain. Unless they think it is going to cost them a lot of votes, they will not care, they are Rats and break any rule they want and rarely pay for it in the end. People know this and really do not trust them, and they really wonder why.

How else do we explain supposed intelligent, educated people buying into the lib lies...and even to the point that some believe that Bush PLANNED 9/11???

You are correct. Many, the useful idiots, have swallowed the Left's poisoned pills; and others, who ought to know better, have been led astray by visions of a perfect liberty dancing in their heads. When someone says- quite correctly IMHO- that freedom isn't free, I take it to mean that we often are called upon to sacrifice some of our personal freedom (not to mention our lives) in order to preserve the greatest amount of liberty possible. It's not just paying taxes etc..

I have no choice but to believe that the answer to America's dilemma at present must be the kind of leadership that is so lacking at present. The kind of unblinking, I don't give a damn if I'm re-elected leadership that quite frankly, and tragically, might not be possible until the wolf has blown down the door.

Now this...

Members of the Catholic Alliance

Now go to the C. Alliance main page and page nine of the pdf.
They've already given them out on Jesuit and other campuses and have boxes to give to churches.

Now, google common good and see what you come up with.

Oh, i'm sure the first thing you thought of with common good is communism/socialism... exactly.

I feel sorry for the first rube that comes into my church with it... they'll pray for Jesus driving out the moneychangers... trust me.

I saw that too, very depressing about Turley. Many times you just can't tell who is how any more. More Notes needed on the scorecard.

http://voanews.com/english/images/tv_Jonathan-Turley3_30dec05.jpg

This guy, right?  I don't understand your comment, then.  I've never viewed him as a "good guy" so I'm not depressed or surprised by his latching onto Baghdad Jane.

I trust Ted Olson to only work on ethical things so I don't think he'll get within 1,000 miles of the leak case.  He's probably around for the AIPAC question, which is much more 'nuanced' (boy do I hate using that word).  But if he had even a hint that Jane was involved in a leak of classified material I'm convinced that he would walk away.

Turley has to be the guy on the leak case and he'll probably base his defense of both Harman and her aid on the idea that the leak was a good thing, even if it broke the law "technically," because it exposed the "lies of McChimpy Bushitler."

You know that they are taking names out of the Phone Book now to call for Jury Duty. Many people still have the attitude that they will get picked for Jury Duty and get in on a Murder Case, or be bored and lose time from work,and have no babysitter. I took my friend and registered her to vote,and she was called three years in a row for Jury Duty including two Murder cases. This was not supposed to happen,and the Family of the last Murderer that she helped convict were in the Courtroom everyday and stared icily at all the Jurors. She was so terrified, that she would be killed by the Family she could not sleep, and after she called the Broward county Court System,they promised to give her years before she would have to serve again, and as far as I know she never did have to serve again. She ended up with really high BP and practically a chain smoker (God rest her Soul),and she never got over the fear.

Did you see this Monday (links at site):

GOP Victory Roadmap
October 16th, 2006 7:32 pm

Newt Gingrich again proves why he’s at the top of my list of preferred 2008 Presidential candidates. His article today is an absolute must-read.

http://www.humanevents.com/winningthefuture.php?id=17562

Read it. Re-read it. Email it to friends and family. Print it out and give it to people at church, at the store, at the bank, post it on bulletin boards and windshields. Remind voters of the clear choice we have.

Remind them what a “Speaker Pelosi” would look like:

- Nancy Pelosi voted against every Republican tax cut. She voted for the largest tax increase in history.
- Nancy Pelosi voted 19 times against eliminating the death tax.
- Nancy Pelosi voted five times for raising gasoline taxes.
- Nancy Pelosi is so pro-high taxes she was one of only 27 members to vote against tax relief for poor neighborhoods in the inner city (presumably including her constituents in San Francisco).
- On July 31, 1996, Pelosi voted against the historic Welfare Reform Bill and later voted against its reauthorization;
- On July 19, 2006, Pelosi voted against protecting the right to say “one nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance;
- On Sept. 20, 2006, Pelosi voted against requiring that voters be identified so we could ensure only legal citizens are voting;
- On July 13, 2006, Pelosi voted against requiring English on ballots;
- On June 30, 2005, Pelosi refused to side with homeowners against the Kelo decision that allows cities to seize private property for profitable ventures, even though 365 members voted to stop cities from taking private property.
- Pelosi has voted at least 12 times against the death penalty;
- Pelosi was one of only 67 House members to vote against the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA);
- Pelosi has voted at least eight times against banning partial-birth abortion, at least three times against the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (Laci’s law), and scored a perfect 100 percent rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America;
- Pelosi voted against a bill that would “[b]ar the transportation of a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion without the consent of a parent, guardian or judge;”
- Pelosi voted at least 31 times for using local or federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortions;
- On Sept. 14, 2006, Pelosi voted against building a fence on the border to protect America from terrorists;
- Before 9/11, Pelosi repeatedly voted to cut intelligence (in 1993 by $500 million) and after 9/11 she has still voted to cut intelligence (in 2004 she voted to withhold 25 percent of intelligence funds);
- When you ask why we were not more prepared for 9/11, remember that six months before Sept. 11, 2001, Pelosi voted to decrease proposed defense spending by $65 billion;
- The next time you think about North Korean nuclear tests and North Korean efforts to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile to reach the United States, remember that in 2002, Pelosi voted for an amendment to the FY 2003 Defense authorization that would block FY 2003 funding for space-based missile defense programs;
- Pelosi led a faction of 124 House Democrats who voted against final passage of the Patriot Act’s reauthorization;
- Pelosi voted against the $87-billion Iraq/Afghanistan supplemental that included extra money for body armor for our soldiers;
- Pelosi voted against creation of Homeland Security Department;
- Pelosi was one of only 33 members to vote against prohibiting U.S. citizens and companies from conducting any financial transaction with countries that have been identified by the State Department as active sponsors of terrorism; and
- In 2004, Pelosi voted against House passage of the intelligence overhaul bill, which reorganized 15 intelligence agencies under one Director of National Intelligence.

Remind them what a “Ways and Means Chairman Rangel” would look like:

- Tax rates will rise substantially in each tax bracket, some by 450 basis points;
- Low-income taxpayers will see the 10-percent tax bracket disappear, and they will have to pay taxes at the 15-percent rate;
- Married taxpayers will see the marriage penalty return;
- Taxpayers with children will lose 50 percent of their child tax credits;
- Taxes on dividends will increase beginning on Jan. 1, 2009;
- Taxes on capital gains will increase, also beginning on Jan. 1, 2009; and
- Federal death taxes will come back to life in 2011, after fading down to nothing in 2010.

Remind them what an “Intelligence Committee Chairman Hastings” would look like:

Hastings is a former federal judge who was indicted in 1981 for influence peddling, then impeached by a vote of 413-3 in the House and removed from his judgeship by subsequent conviction in the Senate on eight articles of impeachment. Hastings’ conviction was only the sixth time that the Senate has removed a judge from office in an impeachment trial. It is not clear why Pelosi would place her trust in an impeached former judge to lead the oversight of our nation’s intelligence agencies

Remind them about the stock market nearing 12,000. Remind them about the 36 consecutive months of job growth and unemployment at 4.7%. Remind them about increasing hourly earnings. Remind them about thousands of terrorists meeting allah face-to-face. Remind them about Saddam on trial. Remind them that the 9/11 mastermind is rotting in prison. Remind them who’s using the court system to eliminate references to God from the public square. Remind them that patroitism is not something to be ashamed of. Remind them that appeasing terrorists doesn’t work. Remind them which party wants to surrender Iraq to terrorists. Remind them which party wants to eliminate successful intelligence tools. Remind them why they haven’t been in power the past few years.

And remind them why they shouldn’t be in power for years to come.

Be sure to add this link to your preview thread next week. It is a very long read, and hidden in the very middle of it is the info that Steele was president of the student body at his High School in DC, and at JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY!

A personality for politics
Steele's reviews are mixed, but his charisma puts him at center stage

NB: The SUN has a "but" in the subhead of every article about a Republican.

---snip---

"He was a great kid," says the Rev. Edson Wood, then the dean of students at what was an all-male school [John Carroll]. "He had the kind of personality that makes everybody feel at ease when they're around him."

Steele graduated in 1977 and entered the Johns Hopkins University on a partial scholarship. His fellow freshmen elected him class president. He continued to act and briefly took up fencing.

The extracurricular activities nearly cost him his place at Hopkins. In an alumni magazine profile last year, he said the school kicked him out after his freshman year for poor grades. According to Steele, he was readmitted after earning A's in four summer classes at George Washington University.

Back at Hopkins, Steele was elected president of the junior class and the student body, and won the title role in The Music Man. He earned a B average, according to the magazine profile, and graduated in 1981 with a degree in international relations.

From what I've read she is getting a lot of heat from Move-on (Lieberman-like heat) and Pelosi has threatened to give her position on the intelligence committee to Alcee Hastings (in retalliation for being too moderate).

All I can gleen is in desperation to get re-elected she has become not only shrill, but careless as well.
