So if my parents were muslim I would be a muslim rather than a professed Christian?

I think that it's important to distinguish whether we're talking about what all Muslims believe and what the Jihadi's believe.  To a Jihadi if you are born to a Muslim you are a Muslim and if you grow up and become a Christian you are apostate and subject to death and any "believing Muslim" is ordered to try and kill you.

Within immigrant Muslim families in Europe, the US and, most recently that I've seen, in Australia, there have been several stories about "honor killings," mostly of daughters and often for being too "promiscuous," specifically fraternizing with non-Muslims.  However, the Australian incident I mentioned from a couple of weeks ago was a case of a father attacking and attempting to kill his daughter for saying she didn't want to be a Muslim.  He apparently ripped the cloths off of her then cut her severly with a knife in the insuing struggle, while her mother tried to protect her.  The mother was killed and I believe that the father was not expected to live from injuries himself, though I'm not sure how he got injured.

Great post!

Talking about Obama is about as enticing to me as eating roaches....

But will someone PLEASE tell Pissy Matthews that the reason we have such a freakin' mess in Congress is because these damn politicians THINK they are superstars and lose all conscienceness that they are supposed to be PUBLIC SERVANTS!

Congress needs to let Babs and other empty Hollywood Heads talk about charity, AIDS, and other social "travesties." Let law enforcement do the "investigating"- let the media whine and cry and try to create division- and THIER ASSES back into the business of doing what is right for this country, stick within their limits of authority granted by our Constitution, and KEEP THE DAMN SECRET INTEL OUT OF THE FREAKING MEDIA!

For those of you in Rio Linda, he's talking about the Drive-By/Mainstream Media. They are indeed the biggest enemy of all.

Why FNC hired Novak is beyond me. Getting sick of FNC and the dumb old farts they have commentating.

I've seen Novak on NBC a lot more often than I've seen him on Fox.  In fact, I can only think of one time I have seen him on Fox since he signed up.  I watch Brit's show and Fox News Sunday regularly but everything else on Fox, particularly the prime time stuff, just doesn't do it for me.  Is Novak a regular contributor on any particular Fox show that you're aware of?

I was polled by Quinnipiac a few months back, and they called three days later after the initial poll to see if I had changed my mind. This was before the Florida Primaries. I got a call the other day from a Washington DC pollster that ask me to take a few minutes to answer poll questions. Then they did not ask me any questions except what sex I was and how old I was (answer by Pushing Phone buttons),then had a recorded message that thanked me for all the time I took to answer the Poll questions. It was very bizarre and I do not think it was a mechanical error. It may have been a flim flam pollster trying to scam the polls and keep conservative Pubbies away from voting.

Bush shook his hand and then "turned to an aide nearby, who squirted a big dollop of hand sanitizer in the president's hand."

LOL!!!!!I wish I had gotten to SEE THAT!

Yeah, I get it Chiller. I guess I'm just frustrated that more people don't get it!
When you weigh everything that is going on politically there is only one choice in the House or Senate and it's always to pull the "R" lever! Why more people don't see it,I just will never understand.

I definitely agree that putting Rahm in a high position is what Hillary would want to do. But if the Dims fail to take the House then he'd be the one who would traditionally take the heat for it.  Dims have a long history of turning on their own in situations like that. It depends on how the aftermath is handled. If the Clinton war machine jumps on Dean early and sets up the idea that it's all his fault Emanuel could come out with an enhanced standing.

"He was betrayed by that lunatic Dean!"

A few weeks ago they let a couple of items "slip out" about Emanuel having to fight with Dean to get resources to pursue his campaign strategy for taking back the House.  It may be that they were preemptively setting up a defense.  It would be like them to do that type of butt covering even if they truly believe that they're going to win big.

Thanks Morgan! I know CO has changed a lot since I lived there and appreciate your great analysis (much better than what I can get on a web site because you're there and in the know - - and I value your opinion)!

Will keep my fingers crossed for these and other races! Maybe it will snow on election day and a lot of Dims will stay home ;-)

Great stuff EC!

Your new name is going to be "The Rush Gal",now you even sound like him.

That was a great treatise on the war and also a brilliant expose of what is really going on.

The war to the Dems really doesn't exist. If anything it's a bothersome police action but in reality to them it's just another Foley/Hastert just another Abramoff/Delay, just another Scooter/Cheney. Everything is designed to get GW and destroy our party at any expense. That's what they are all about and we need to focus more on it.

This is not a political party with different ideas just a party in search of power at any and all costs. This is why the dems are getting closer and closer to those that we fight in Iraq. If anything they should now be considered political terrorists since they will sacrifice our nation's ability to wage war for political advantage. A sure sign of a traitor if I have ever see one.

I have soccer on at present

Is it easier to just call it "soccer" when talking to us, or do you call the game soccer normally?  I thought we North Americans were the only ones who didn't call the game football.  Do you have a favorite team?

I'm watching our brand of pro football, switching back and forth between the Steelers/Falcons game and the Bengals/Panthers game.  Later this afternoon we get the Colts/Redskins game here in our area of the country.  This evening we would usually have a Sunday night game, but it's not on for some reason.  Tomorrow night on Monday Night Football is Giants/Dallas, which should be pretty good.

By the way, what are you preparing for Sunday dinner?

Brainwashing personified, if every channel you turn on predicts a huge rat win who will the less informed voters pull the lever for, and that plays right into the dems hands! Like you I am just amazed at some of whom have simply given up and said "o.k. let em have it."
It's beyond me.

How could I forget Harry Reid's absence? Glaring isn't it?

Last night I watched Beltway Boys and took running notes, which I posted over here.

They talked about Reid a very little bit.  The set up was "Have corruption charges against Harry Reid finally reached critical mass?" Here's what I wrote about what they said:

Mort: Reid's stuff is hardly "Watergate."  The illegal use of campaign funds was chump change.  It's not going to trump the Foley scandal.

Fred: Reid is protected by the D by his name.  The press is protecting him.

That's it. Fred is right.  Their just going to ignore it.

You have your head FIRMLY planted........in the sand (had to clean up my original thought).....

No one is playing chicken little...Stone is trying to explain to us exactly what is going on in his area that is keeping the Dems in power- and if we want to change that, or avoid it in our own areas and the country- ignoring the problems will not work.

And as for calling people trolls are torllish- YOU should know better! How dare you whine about being treated like a troll when you share your thoughts and then do the same to someone else...

SHAME ON YOU!
