Hello, everyone, I just got in!
My wife posted the thread for me this morning. I wasn't even supposed to be here.
I took my kids to a cub scout camp out yesterday (6 and 10 YO). All was fine until a few hours ago. A huge, wet, windy, very rainy front moved thru, blew part of our tent down, water got over everything. I called my wife at 5:00 am and told her to come get us! Luckily this camp is not far from our house.... Anyway, we had a blast until the last few hours. We'd still be there eating breakfast if it wasn't for the storm. I told my wife to post the thread at 7:00 am; but for the storm she would have--she posted it on the way out to get us.
Now we are home and dry. We'll go back this afternoon to survey the damage and pack up our hopefully dried up gear.

Yesterday on Beltway Boys, Mort Kondrake (I think) said something about a Dem (I think he said Obama) coming to DC to be a uniter - that GWBush had campaigned on being a uniter, yet he made DC more polarized than ever before.
I'd like to smack Kondrake, just to get his attention, then remind him that the only way Bush could be a "uniter" would be to leave the White House and offer the place to Teddy Kennedy or Al Gore or John Kerry.
Yeah! That would really bring the country together.

I gotta admit I have my down moments about events in Iraq from time to time and was having a few pathetic moments last week until I ran across this. After reading this I slapped myself a few times to come back to my senses and then prayed thanks to God that we have men and women who volunteer to work in hospitals on their days off like the one at Balad Air force base in Iraq.
Our fighting forces in Iraq are the finest in the world so anytime anyone says anything about pulling out, giving up, cutting and running, just refer them to stories like this and see what they have to say.
