His wife, Barbara Olson, had her life snuffed out by Islamic murderers on September 11th, 2001.
Ted loved her very much.
She was a FReeper, named "BKO" - her initials. She was always funny, brilliant, and considerate on this board.
I still remember an article R. Emmett Tyrrell wrote about going to Ted Olson's house in Washington DC after her funeral. Many noted Conservatives and powerful Republicans were there. Ted had a picture of Barbara on the kitchen counter top, and was pouring wine for the guests. When Tyrrell approached him, Ted smiled a sad smile and said "No long faces." What courage and bravery.
He has had quite a tragedy in his life. Glad he can move on and try to live the rest of it with some happiness the man deserves and which we would all want were we to remarry after our own beloved spouse had been murdered five years earlier by terrorists.
I often wondered how Ted was doing in his personal life. Congratulations to him. I miss Barbara so much, as everyone does. I tried to retieve her posts but they no longer exist. Too bad. I would love to read her thoughts.
