Three of the Florida Supreme Court Justices ruling in favor of AlGore in 2000 are up for a retention vote on November 7, 2006. Justices R. Fred Lewis, Barbara Jean Pariente, and Peggy A. Quince all face the question "Shall Justice _____ of the Supreme Court be retained in office?"
Revenge is a dish best served cold and I'm pulling this thread out of my freezer for your dining delight.
Pass the word and let's make this a triple play!

The final vote was 4-3. IMO any judge who was in the minority on that vote should be judged on other matters.

Yesss! And another big bump. I will be voting NO for all three of these RATS.

I sincerely hope that the Florida Republican Party is pushing this vote hard. I was very disappointed at the way the Republican legislators in Florida finked out and refused to take any action on this incredible politicial decision by the SCOFLAws.
As we have seen all too frequently these past few years, Florida is crammed with bad judges, and the place to start fixing it is at the top.

The Party usually avoids saying anything about the "nonpartisan" judicial races. It's up to us.

I have three people in my house all voting for non retention.
Don't get your hopes up people. They never vote judges off here. But we'll do our best.

Good luck to you. They were all appointed by that genius, Lawton Chiles, weren't they?

Chiles appointed Lewis and Pariente for sure. The bio of Quince says she was appointed by Chiles AND gov-elect Jeb Bush so I assume Jeb was consulted about the appointment.

Just fyi, generally FL SC justices are retained at about an 68-80 rate.
I don't think ANY justice has been recalled.

I almost always vote for non-retention. The only time not to is if a judge who is known to be non-activist is running while a Dem is in the statehouse.

You get to vote FOR Katherine Harris and AGAINST three of the four SCOFLA Justices ... how sweet is that!
