Four Democrats and four Republicans. Five liberals, two moderates and a conservative.
The liberal Schwarzenegger and even the conservative hometown boy are no great surprise but moderates McPherson and Poizner also got the nod.
Fair and balanced. We report, you decide.

I'm surprised at the Poizner and Poochigian endorsements. Well, maybe just the Poizner endorsement.

I thought Poochigian was supposed to be running behind. This endorsement is not only surprising, it might put him over the top.

The Fresno Bee had a nice editorial on their endorsement of Schwarzenegger. Their endorsement of John Garamendi over Tom McClintock came nearly a week before Garamendi said he would work to dismantle the Hetch Hetchy project and restore Yosemite Valley. I was hopeful this element would have the Fresno Bee reevaluate their endorsement for Lt. Governor. The closing the Hetch Hetchy Project would have a devastating domino effect on agriculture here in Central California. It would make it necessary to divert critical water supplies necessary for sustaining agriculture to other needs in other areas of the state, decrease business in this area, and cause a sharp loss of jobs. It would also cause a ripple effect by increasing the cost of food throughout California and the entire nation. It is a formula for catastrophe. The Fresno Bee endorsement of John Garamendi over Tom McClintock is nothing short playing Russian Roulette with the very livelihood of this area and consumers.
It's not too late for the Bee to reevaluate their endorsement for Lt. Governor. It would suit their readership well to endorse the candidate that would protect their way of life best, and not the candidate that threatens that way of life most.
I will write a letter to the Fresno Bee editors, but hope everyone else from the Valley, and even consumers within the state that enjoy the benefit of inexpensive produce, will do the same.

Poochigian is a Fresno "Home Boy!" This is the Fresno BEE, not the Sacramento Bee!
