BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan -- New details have emerged in the case of a U.S. Air Force officer who disappeared mysteriously last month while serving in the far-flung ex-Soviet state of Kyrgyzstan, casting doubt on her claim that she was kidnapped.
Maj. Jill Metzger, 33, vanished from a store in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, on Sept. 5, shortly before she was to return to the United States. Three days later, authorities said, she turned up at a farmhouse 20 miles away, her hair dyed and feet bloody, saying she had been abducted, had overcome her kidnappers and had escaped.
New facts revealed by the Kyrgyz police, however, deepen the mystery and raise the possibility Metzger orchestrated her own disappearance. Kyrgyz authorities say there is no evidence to back up her account that a woman approached her while she was shopping and kidnapped her.

Then, if that's not bad enough we find that this is in Newsday, best known for having submitted false circulation data to ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) for the purpose of misleading potential advertisers about its readership. This would enable them to charge higher rates than would otherwise be justified.
Until a reputable body comes up with evidence developed by other reputable bodies, the Major's story continues to be the one most realistic and authoritative.

"Them Kyrgyzstan boys is dancin' fools...who could resist 'em?"
Aimee Semple MacPherson 'disappeared' from a California beach and surfaced much later walking into the US from Mexico, claiming to have been kidnapped by two people named 'Rose' and 'Steve.' Compared to the AF officer's story, Aimee's is entirely believable.
Aimee was seen around on her own during the time of her being 'kidnapped' and was probably having a fling with the radio engineer from her Four Square Gospel church.
The AF officer story is a hoax.
Isn't she engaged to be married? I suggest the gentalman take closer, look. I call this a waste of AF Major slot......I am AF, so I can have an opinion.
You need to give me a link for the story at Debka.
I should have posted this even more revealing story from FOX news. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,218323,00.html
Have you ever read this?
I guess the country of Kyrgyzstan would have no reason to lie. Let's accept their version over that of an Air Force Major. Yep, Yep......
There is no story at Debka. That was an insult. Suggesting Debka would be a better source than the Kyrgiz government and Newsday is definitely a FIRST CLASS insult ~ only the best.

Is there something emotional going on that I'm not aware of?
You're posts are confusing, but they do seem angry.
These people are simply not trustworthy sources. Find someone better ~ who we can trust.

From what I understand about Milton Berle, he was loud, crude, vulgar and full of himself- and those were his good qualities. He was also know to exaggerate just a little bit.
Sorry a quote mark got into that link try this Fox link.

You really will have to do better than that.
So far the only person to come forward who knows anything about the event is the Major.
Metzger's father, John, when contacted by telephone from Central Asia at the family's home in North Carolina, said much is unknown, but three facts are certain: His daughter was kidnapped, she was beaten, and she escaped.
"She's a tough little cookie," he said. "She wants to see these criminals brought to justice and she'll do everything she can to see that this happens."
Urmanbetov said police are basing their investigation on the assumption that Metzger was indeed kidnapped, "because that's what she insists." But, he said, "we have a lot of questions, like why didn't she run away when she had the chance, and why didn't she call for help?"
I have a bit more faith in Air Force officers. I could be proved wrong, but I refuse to easily believe Russian Sunni Muslims over an American Air Force officer.
But what happened to her makes no sense: She was kidnapped, beaten and her hair dyed.
Did they do her nails too?
What was this Major's job at Moody?
