This explains the change in our diocese's health insurance for employees. On January 1 they will go to a high deductible insurance policy with a health savings plan jointly funded by the archdiocese and the employee, each contributing $1000.

My sister, a teacher at a Catholic school, was griping about it. Now I see that this will enable the archdiocese to avoid paying for birth control pills.

Why would your sister gripe. That is the best way to go. I wish we had that set up where I work. Most wonderful idea for health care ever.

Your sister should run the numbers. If the new plan qualifies her for a health savings accounts the savings can be substantial.
