The latest claim from Senator Clinton's camp is that her campaign chest has swelled to $15.8 million. So, what is she doing with it?
There hasn't been much evidence that it's being spent on the Senate race, and her opponent's spokesman, Rob Ryan, says the real purpose of the money is to fund her 2008 presidential race. Amazingly, I just received an e-mail from a member of the Conservative Party's executive committee, Jim Kelly, who states with all seriousness that Republican John Spencer can win the Senate race.
The idea of Mrs. Clinton losing is so unlikely that at first glance it's easy to dismiss the notion until one considers the one factor that makes this scenario plausible the turnout.
Mr. Kelly cites statistics that show Mrs. Clinton's defeat is conceivable given the history of low turnout on statewide Election Day."Only 5 1/2 million of the 19 million people vote on a Statewide election day! These numbers clearly are in our favor," he writes. Then, he adds the big "ifs."

Maybe this needs a quiet get-out-the-vote effort by pro-lifers and the NRA, as the writer suggests.
If the RNC makes too much noise about it, hillary will start spending, because she certainly can't afford to lose the Senate seat if she wants to run in 2008.
I always turn out to vote, even if the odds are hopeless. I think it's our duty to vote.
Well, I'm an optimist, but I'm not putting any stock in Spencer winning anything. That said, he'll be getting my vote.
As much as I would love to see it, you are dreaming if you think Clinton will lose...
He's got my vote.
I wish a Clinton defeat were possible. It would take a extremely strong ground game and GOTV effort, and that's not likely to happen without an army of committed volunteers.
If I had some ham, I could make some ham and eggs, if I only had some eggs.
When this witch does run for the `08 big house, please by God somehow get Ann Coulter to run as well if just to get Ann on the same debating stage as this beast. It`s high time and well past time someone at last rip this Rodham disease to shreds.
They actually do make a good point here. I've NEVER seen an election anywhere with less excitement about the people that are supposed to have the whole thing locked.
No Hillary stickers. I've seen like 2 Spitzer stickers. Hillary has NO lawn signs and Spitzer's got like 2 in the entire area that I'm in. I always spot them and think 'The person that lives there must work for the state'.
If someone were able to mount a movement under the radar, something might happen.
I wouldn't bet on it though. :)
If John Spencer beats Hillary!, Armageddon might be just around the corner. It's simply not going to happen, barring a miracle.
I haven't seen a Spencer ad on broadcast TV down here yet - and he doesn't have the money to run any, as far as I know. Hillary! just started running her puff piece ads here.
Me, too. I've been voting since I was 18 and I don't think I ever missed a year. It's a privilege to be able to vote.
The article - using as it's source a 'member of the CP's executive committe' - is unfortunately just a lot of masturbation.
You know, prayers can really help. I have a 21 day prayer guide from Chuck Pierce that I'm using and one of the days it says to repent of doubt and unbelief and not to listen to what the media says about the elections. I intend to follow that advice and to declare victory for the candidates that reflect my (and probably yours, too) values and hopes for our beloved America.
Don't leave God out of the formula. Prayer can really turn the tide. It sure did for GWB.
A victory may be asking too much, but a strong showing would take a lot of steam out of the Clinton machine. Any Republican in New York who can vote against her is doing the nation a big favor.
Absolutly. I think we save it for 24 months.
actually, many people might just notice that there is "someone' running against her when they are in the voting booth -
they don't have to remember the name, just the fact that there is SOMEONE running against her...and pull the lever and laugh maniacally....
I didn't know that New Yorkers were devious. I lived upstate NY and never knew anyone to be characterized as devious.
