Translation:

We didn't support Tancredo's re-election bid in 2004, preferring challenger Joanna Conti who would have served without Tancredo's polarizing persona and single-item agenda doing anything to deter our effort to build a permanent power base out of a dependant Hispanic underclass.

But Tancredo has worked hard to advance an important issue that others would like to ignore we would have preferred remained ignored, and we believe he can contribute to its resolution by caving in to what we wanted in the first place. Members of the House and Senate have hit a stalemate, but there are 12 million reasons they should forge an agreement potential Democrat votes.

Yes, I believe you have gleaned the pure essence of the article.

Let's review a few definitions from the socialist/leftist play book.

a leading role : getting behind our plan

comprehensive solution : collapse on principle

kick and scream : telling the truth (in opposition to leftist dogma) at any volume, while sitting or standing

polarizing : any argument that advances the idea that our nation's laws should be upheld, or that there actually is a moral right and wrong

pragmatic : accepting our point of view

relentless : unreasonable, unwilling to compromise, unwilling to accept criminality, unwilling to support the DNC

respectable alternative : term used to describe our candidates in order to infer their candidates are not respectable

sensible resolution : one that sees our views implemented concerning all points

single item agenda : support for any single issue (by itself or among many) we can't win on the merits, and must demagogue

twelve million reasons : 17.2 million votes

This sentence is a doozie : 'The Senate and President Bush have fashioned comprehensive immigration reform that includes border security, employer sanctions, a guest-worker program and an eventual path to citizenship.'

Name one point mentioned in this sentence that wasn't a part of the 1986 Amnesty. The border security part is being sold as something new and a real change. I don't think it's all that serious, and in seven years we'll have ten million illegals in this nation whether we legalize everyone here now or not.
