MILWAUKEE - County authorities said a screener with the Transportation Security Administration was arrested early Saturday after a report that she took money from a passenger's wallet.
The passenger, from Genoa City, Wis., was waiting to go through screening at General Mitchell International Airport when the incident occurred, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said. The passenger reported losing $20.
But authorities eventually recovered $235 after a co-worker told authorities he saw the suspect storing items behind a magazine rack.
The woman, 26, is based in Milwaukee and has been working with TSA for 4 years.
She was taken to jail awaiting a charge of theft and was being held on a cash bail amount of $200.
The Transportation Safety Administration employs the screeners. A spokeswoman says there have been cases of theft before, around the country. She says they have zero tolerance for theft.
The screener in question has been put on administrative leave.

Can't be that bad. At least she wasn't sending nasty e mails to Washington pages. That'l get you fired and lose the whole country to socialists and get you attacked by mooslimbs. What's a little theft from the government? She is probably getting recommended to the IRS as we speak.

I had a coat stolen from the outside pocket of my checked luggage. I never thought to check my wallet after going through security.

I have a theory about the TSA.
They all played 2nd-string tuba in their high school marching band.

Clearly, the 'gubmint isn't spending enough on TSA worker training... Obviously. If she had been properly trained to steal money, she would not have been caught.

Port security in Seattle is private rent-a-bully.

She was taken to jail awaiting a charge of theft and was being held on a cash bail amount of $200. That's rediculous. I can see it from the perspective of petty theft, but this was a person in a position of trust -- book-throwing time.

You wrote: "the victim might decide that it isn't worth pressing charges over $20 if it means they might have to return to testify." In this case, if the victim is from Genoa City, then he is only about 45 minutes away from Milwaukee and the courthouse. I would return. It's the principle of the thing.

I landed this evening in Columbus Ohio about 8pm. All the concourse shops were closed. Not sure how many more flights were going out this evening. There were 12 TSA agents at the security station. And no one was going through security.
What about THIS theft?

TSA trains them in Artesia.I can picture them in the Bulldog Bowl (built and donated by the Mack truck people).

Why does a woman need to steal when she can just get involved in a land deal in Las Vegas and make big bucks?

It's a union job. It will take years of documentation of that kind of misbehavior to dislodge her from the position. Not too mention anything stolen under $500 is a perk.
I'm sure the union will send her to additional training.

just ask several ex-Milwaukee aldermen, a former state Senator and in about a year, our current governor, Jim "Craps" Doyle (WEAC/Potawatomi-For Sale). From your keyboard to God's eyes!

"In the private sector she'd be fired on the spot." Ah, but you see.... The Democrats INSISTED that all screeners become "Professionalized" -- by becoming FEDERALIZED Civil Servants.....and UNION Dues paying contributors to the Democrat party....
The thieving bitch in this case will probably sue the Government for the embarrassment she has been put through as a result of being caught..
Oh the horrors..

#4 Funny but sad picture,
I see this "step to the side" screening done all the time to our senior citizens. Hip and knee replacements are a bee-ach.
Talked to TSA agent about this once. Told me those are the rules. If an TSA lets one senor get by with out 2nd screening they can get reprimanded. This is not an easy job and like other professions, there are some bad apples.
