Dude....ALWAYS lock the doors in NJ/NY. I have driven rentals there many times. Union City, Jersey City, East Orange. Why this guy rolled the window down, nobody knows. Inside job. Yes, I can relate. I live in a bad neighborhood, too. A real bad one. In fact, getting my car stolen and being punched in the face would probably be a good day. I make sure the vehicle is locked, the armor plating is at least at B level, my flak jacket is securely fastened at the sides and that the drivers are armed to the teeth.

Is it still that bad?

Maybe the driver thought he could confiscate some trans fat cannolis, what with that being the Mayor's latest obsession.

Allegra, stay safe. I sure hope the people in your "neighborhood" appreciate what you are doing as much as we do. What some folks won't do to get away from the gulf coast traffic and humidity! Fare well, and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the fine folks you are working with!
PAR, she is back in a neighborhood that used to be under the brutal tyranny of a dictator. For real.
