I don't want to turn this into a mutual admiration society-but you nailed it again! While I want to believe that the country will rally around the Prez-which they still may, or at least most will. There is a nagging feeling that this will hurt our President. I am not really worried about politics here (not in a strict sense) I am worried about his ability to lead our nation in a severe crisis-not that he is not a great leader-talking about being hamstrung. To hell with the election, if there is a devastating attack the mid terms take a backseat to continued solid focused leadership. That, of course being said, would be difficult with dem control. On the other hand if the attacks are as bad as warned the country (I pray) will unite.
Another red flag is the reported "cycle of warnings" from Al-Qeada. If you have an understanding of Islam and Jihad- ones enemies need to be warned three times. only then will the killing of noncombatants be acceptable. If the warnings are not heeded-so be it. I know I simplified it but the point is solid. The cycle of warnings HAS been followed and the bad guys have religious go aheads from some radical Imams....Why would AL-Qeada risk its credibility and not follow through on what they threaten?!!?

To hell with the election, if there is a devastating attack the mid terms take a backseat to continued solid focused leadership. Agreed 100%. Unfortunately, I have no confidence that the "other side" feels this way. All throughout the Iraq war they have done nothing but shown themsevlves to be political opportunists willing to endanger our soldiers' lives by undermining the President, publicly ridiculing him, belittling him, mocking him. They have encouraged the Iraqi "resistance" (nice term, huh?) to continue picking off our soldiers until we finally lose the political will to win. Why on earth would they change?

"if the attacks are as bad as warned the country (I pray) will unite." WHAT!?!!?? In the aftermath of the next attack you want to unite with the left? The people who facilitated the attack? The people who want to destroy our economy? The people whose behavior you've seen since 9-11? Look, repubziilla, I don't know you and don't mean to flame you but that is a disgusting post.

im Hamid Mir's article, this Abu Dawood says that the warning cycle has been completed
now we are continuing to get warnings eventhough they are susposed to be done.
They have released 50+ videos/audiotapes so far this year
and im willing to bet the large majority contain some kind of threat
