Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is promoting his return to the ring, but he's campaigning for Maryland U.S. Senate candidate Michael Steele at the same time.

In Strongsville, Ohio Tuesday, Tyson wore a white and blue Steele for U.S. Senate T-shirt and said he used to believe black Republicans were "sellouts."

The 40-year-old Tyson said "We have to open our eyes more."

Tyson's former manager, Don King, campaigned with Steele on Monday in Maryland.

This is a facinating development. I just hope Tyson doesn't bite off Ben Cardin's ear.

What would really be great is if Bill Cosby were to endorse Steele.

If I'm not mistaken, Tyson is an in-law of Steele.

Anyhow, I'll say here what I said there: Tyson is Steele's ex-brother-in-law.

It'll probably help in MD, but I hope it doesn't get much play outside of MD, because it'll be a disaster if it does.

Hmm. The left will say "look how addled he is- he votes Republican now."

I will still vote for Steele despite this somewhat disconcerting "endorsement."

Wesley Snipes has also endorsed the candidate based on his support of a flat tax of 0%.

What a coup! Do you think he can get John Mark Karr to support him as well?

The liberals will now declare that Tyson isn't authentically black anymore.

Sirhan Sirhan did not endorse a candidate in the 2006 Maryland Senate race, although he has been outspoken in support of Katherine Harris' candidacy in Florida as well as William Donald Schaeffer's campaign for reelection as Maryland comptroller.

LOL. I hear Wesley Snipes will join the chorus of people calling for the abolishing of the IRS.
