STOCKHOLM, Sweden A tough-line stance against North Korea in wake of its nuclear weapons test could lead to an armed response from Pyongyang, former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix said Wednesday.
In an interview with Swedish Radio, Blix said sanctions and threats of military attacks against North Korea was likely to lead to further escalation instead of a diplomatic solution.
"If you look at North Korea's previous reactions when they have been exposed to threats, things have usually escalated," Blix said. "It is a dangerous situation."
Blix also warned against pressuring China to stop and search North Korean ships for banned weapons and materials, an issue that has created tension between Beijing and the United States over U.N. Security Council sanctions for the North's nuclear test. China has so far balked against U.S. pressure to stop the ships, saying it could trigger military clashes.

Talk to the hand, Hans, talk to the flipping hand.

Ping!
Aha! Hans Brix! Good to see you Hans.
Escalation? What are they gonna do, send a list of sanctions on heavier-bonded paper?
Someone once posted that Blix couldnt find his arse with his Hans..
We are not talking about a stance, we are talking about turning that turd hole into a glass parking lot.
I wonder if Hans notices that his ankles seem to get lower and harder to reach with each passing year.
lol GMTA
Hans Blix, also known as the Blixie Chick.

Blix appears to be a dilettante. It might be that he talks completely different behind closed diplomatic doors, but these public statements belong to an appeaser who would bring war and destruction even more certainly than someone who did absolutely nothing.
Kim's trying to test bombs and Blix is afraid of "escalation"? What is he afraid Kim will try next? This is advice as sound as telling a guy who's being beaten up by a mugger "Don't fight back, you'll only make him mad."
Hans Blix: "Only all-out appeasement can lead to total surrender..... any confrontational course could be dangerous to my agenda of worldwide weasels for socialism!"
Hans Blix
It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
Just not for the reason he thinks.
Sanctions will lead to escalation. But we're holding all the cards. Kim Jong Il is practicing brinksmanship, but in the end, he's bluffing. He may be a thief and a bully, but he's not suicidal.
At the end of the day, we have the food, and he doesn't. He's trying to scare us into giving him food, but he can't take it. He can say, "Give me food or else" all day long, but when it gets to "or else what?" we'll find that there is no answer.
The MSM keeps trotting out the same tired garbage repeating the same tired talking points.
I saw Kim Jong Ill feed Hans Brix to the sharks.
