Hastert should not step down because Foley is a queer freak. He should step down because he is ineffective as a leader.
Do we have a candidate in mind that would be more effective? From what I have seen, with Hastert as Speaker, the Republican Congress has maintained unity and resisted the Dems far better than the Senate has.
