The liberal democrat media trying to suppress the GOP vote thread, 10/18/06
Various liberal media outlets | October 18, 2006

Posted on 10/18/2006 6:57:52 AM PDT by Dane

Just thought I would start a daily thread of links to articles posted on FR as a clearinghouse showing the dinosaur medias attempt to shape this election and suppress GOP/conservative turnout. They are pulling out all the stops, for the dinosaur media knows if they lose this election, it's a steep downhill for them from there.

So far slim pickings this morning, has the liberal media learned a lesson? Nahhh, I doubt it, but I will get this thread started off with a link to a thread, although not from a big liberal media source, the article does state succinctly, the lberals and democrats battle plan in the media.

democrats bank on angry Republicans

Thank you SisterT for the NYT doom and gloom propaganda link on yesterdays thread.

I am going to post the link on today's thread.

alarm bells for GOP in Ohio poll(NYT,CBS) results

The dumbo's sitting behind their desks in midtown Manhattan will never learn, that they are not the center of the world, and biased poll results is not going to change that.

Perhaps of interest, relating to your earlier comments regarding the MSM on the "Blue Wave of the Future is Clear" thread.

Bill Kristol was on Fox this morning saying we would lose 40 seats in the House. Since I believe Kristol does NOT have Republican interests at heart, I discount his opinion, but rather consider him part of the MSM "depress the vote" effort.

Bill Kristol is becoming the neo-dick morris. An overpaid fool who is always wrong.

OH, another dig from Greg Kelly, who reports that Barbara Bush said this would be a terrible year for Republicans.

Why is it that I think Kelly (who is a democrat) might have selectively edited that quote?

Yep, that is what democrats and the liberal media types do. They selectively quote, and then have a snarky look on their face on camera.

It's not a horse race if Secretariat is racing Mister Ed. The MSM (Fox included, IMO) wants, needs, craves viewer handwringing, hell-raising, and constant updates. They are so predictable, yet we cannot escape the barrage of 24/7 predictions. It's a disgrace, the games they're playing. I think I shall take to Nickolodeon and catch up with Green Acres. Mr. Haney did a better sales job than the MSM is doing with hawking their wares.

Oh, you just don't like him because he's a McCain guy... You Bushbots really amuse me as you're sooo-o-o willing to slay the messenger when you don't like the message.

Uh meandog, dang you are the guy who pulled off his bumper sticker for jim webb, for all of the sudden when a member of webb's political party, hillary clinton, campaigned for him.

But keep on posting meandog, your hypocritical transparency is amusing.

I'm not a BUSH-bot, nor am I a McCain-bot and I don't think Kristol's record is very stellar.

There is without a doubt an effort to suppress the conservative vote. I think it will only steele the resolve of conservatives who want to protect unborn children from being vacuumed from their mother's wombs and who want to protect born children from another terrorist attack.

Predicting a Dem lanslide can just as easily backfire as depress the Republican turnout. How many Dems upon hearing that the race is over won't even bother to vote?

The MSM's got a dog in this fight - access to power people. Access for journalists is the game -- and the "little black book's" the marker. Access is worthless if the only names in the book are those outside big power circles.

Powerless Dems are on the outside. Show rating go down. When Kennedy and other liberals aren't movers and shakers, they're just blowhards - covering the powerless is a MSM journalists career killer...

Is this what caused Mapes and Rather to risk all? Their lines to power were nonexistent with Republicans in power - same for the New York Times... Jobs are on the line. They're got a dog in this fight.

That's right, when Webb chose to align himself with Hillary--someone I politically despised scratched him from thoughts that he could become another Zell Miller, Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson, in representing the kind of reasonable Democrat and American that I could vote for; apparently, I was mistaken. OTOH, you Bushbots will never admit that the POTUS you backed in the GOP primaries in 2000 is a weak, milktoast impression of the best we ever had: Ronald Reagan!
I firmly believe that on Sept. 12th 2001, George Bush was standing on the precipice of Reagan-type greatness and all that was necessary was leadership, but he's blown that opportunity on his Don Rumsfeld/Dick Cheney recommended half-assed, both-hands-tied behind his back approach to the GWOT in Iraq and Afghanistan. And now he's confronted with a nuclear North Korea and an emerging nuclear Iran and can seemingly do nothing about it...so much for the Bush Doctrine: a bunch of empty rhetoric and as valid as his old man's "Read My Lips" promise.

Kristol works for McCain. McCain needs a Republican disaster in November in order to ride in on his white Horse and save the party.

I just read AJ Strata's in depth analysis which guesses at a Democrat pick up of at most 10 Congressional seats. He bases his analysis on the fact that polls are notoriously off by 5% against Republicans.

LOL! You are not fooling no one, faux general meandog.

webb registered himself as a candidate on the democrat ticket(the political party of hillary) so your outrage against webb is phony.

Also JMO, if you are that ignorant of webb's political affilation when running for the Senate(i.e running on the democrat/hillary party ticket), I am glad you are retired from the military, and if I had the power, I would revoke your military pension, because you don't deserve the pension, with your obvious ignorance.

It is immaterial to me whether or not Kristol supports McCain. I believe he only does so because it goes along with his real goal, which is the disruption of the Republican party.

A reason, by the way, which is actually why YOU were such a big McCain backer
