Ah, sad to hear. I used to listen to him every day when my local talk station cut to CBS Radio News at the top of the hour. Didn't get to hear him though after the Dan Rather fiasco since the station decided to switch from CBS to ABC.
Great voice, great delivery. Years and years of hearing the tone & inflection it gets imprinted in your mind.
I still kind of resent CBS' revamp of their top-of-the-hour jingle.

RIP
I will never forget his voice on Jan 28, 1986. I was at work and could not watch the space shuttle launch on TV so I had to rely on radio. You could hear the excitement in Glenn's voice when he said "Christa McAuliffe is on her way!" moments after liftoff. Then a few seconds later CBS concluded their coverage and went off the air, before the catastrophe occurred. When a coworker told me a few minutes later there was "some kind of explosion" I turned my radio back on. The first thing I heard was Christopher Glenn again. A powerful, sad day.

Always loved Schoolhouse Rock - so I bought the DVD collection which has all the ones ever made. My personal favorite is The Tale of Mr. Morton. It always struck me as being very clever - who could ever imagine thinking up a song about the predicate of a sentance.
What a voice.
You are right. As I read the headline and story, I could still hear his voice. May God be with him and his loved ones.
As a kid in the '70s I remember "In The News" on Saturday mornings. Glenn was a familiar voice at the top of the hour on CBS.
Yup,Great Voice and I'm sure a Great Guy
May he rest in peace.
Veteran CBS News correspondent Christopher Glenn, who retired earlier this year, has died, CBS News reports.
Sure seems like retirement is a nasty killer.
I was just thinking about those "In the News" segments a few days ago wondering if they still showed a modern day version of those on Saturday morning TV for kids. I'm too busy watch College Football Game Day on ESPN on Saturday mornings to check.
What memories that brings back.
